I wish Big Al was still on the air.
I bet he has some great stories about Atwater.
A well earned and deserved honor for a player who literally left everything on the field, especially his opponents after he tackled them ferociously.

rest - https://www.denverbroncos.com/news/i...tions-after-beDENVER — Dennis Smith has never been to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He's never seen the hall lined with bronze busts, never gazed upon the Hall's collection of football artifacts documenting its 100-year history.
For so long, he told himself that he probably wouldn't make the trip except to witness the enshrinements of Karl Mecklenburg or Steve Atwater, two of his favorite former teammates — or unless he himself got the call.
After Atwater was elected to the Hall of Fame on Feb. 1, Smith will not only go to Canton to watch as his close friend receives football's highest individual honor — he'll also be part of the festivities as Atwater's presenter.
