I wish Big Al was still on the air.

I bet he has some great stories about Atwater.

A well earned and deserved honor for a player who literally left everything on the field, especially his opponents after he tackled them ferociously.

    He’s on KOA.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Default Broncos’ Steve Atwater explains why he chose Dennis Smith as presenter for Pro Football Hall of Fame

Former Broncos safety Steve Atwater discussed his life since his selection to the Class of 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame last weekend with local media on Thursday.

Atwater said that former teammate Dennis Smith, a Broncos defensive back (1981-1994), will be his presenter for enshrinement. A quick roundup of Atwater’s news conference highlights.

Default 'I almost passed out when I heard it': Dennis Smith describes his emotions after being chosen as Steve Atwater's Hall of Fame presenter

DENVER — Dennis Smith has never been to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

He's never seen the hall lined with bronze busts, never gazed upon the Hall's collection of football artifacts documenting its 100-year history.

For so long, he told himself that he probably wouldn't make the trip except to witness the enshrinements of Karl Mecklenburg or Steve Atwater, two of his favorite former teammates — or unless he himself got the call.

After Atwater was elected to the Hall of Fame on Feb. 1, Smith will not only go to Canton to watch as his close friend receives football's highest individual honor — he'll also be part of the festivities as Atwater's presenter.
