The Astros have to feel pretty great about fanless baseball though. As awful as all this is, not getting booed mercilessly every game will help them.

I get their frustration, and the “these guys are rich, who cares,” but the teams are making zero money. The operating budgets are going to be working in the negative of $150M to $300M (depending on payroll for teams) at the bare minimum. This idea from the players that they make their contract’s full worth and yet there’s no fans, no ticket sales and they get half the money on TV contracts ... I’m just not sure what they expect. It’s going to be a cut or nothing. You choose.

If I were the players, I'd agree to the pay cuts on the condition the owners donate the difference to covid relief. If the players are going to lose regardless, might as well have that most money go to a good cause. And if there's still no season the owners look like the bad guys.
