Not only that but his first SB victory really came on what was basically a hail mary. I think Nomad might be right though that just on his last name alone he will probably get in but i agree more with Wave at this point. In a lot of ways just like Dilfer and Johnson the surrounding team carried Eli to those SB's, not the other way around.

57000 yards 366 TDs. Those numbers get any QB in the HOF.

If you make it to the top ten passing yards or passing TD list, you're going in the Hall.

Look at these two lists and tell me which guy isn't going into the Hall.

Now if you make it to the top ten of both of those lists and it's a slam dunk. You might personally disagree, I don't understand why, but in the end you'll be wrong and they'll be wearing their well deserved gold jackets. I'm not a big fan of the Hall because of the way they treat Broncos (Atwater, Gradishar and Tombstone come to mind) but I'm not going to begrudge guys like Eli or even Rivers who earned their way into the Hall by playing at high levels for a long time at arguably the most mentally taxing position in all of sports.

Let's also not forget Eli's Ironman status, that dude played every week for a long time and took a helluva beating sometimes. I'll be happy for him when he gets elected. Granted I'm biased, I have quite an affinity for the Manning family.

He was good when it mattered most. That has to count for something.

I don't care about stat accumulation. He played for 16 years in a heavy passing era. Any decent QB would put up those numbers in that time.

Give me a player like TD who had a short career but was completely dominant during it over a guy who just played a long time at an average level and accumulated a bunch of stats.

Frank Gore is going to retire 3rd all time in rushing yards. He's only gone over 1300 yards in a season once and only has one season with double digit TDs. Is he a hall of famer?

I believe Phil Simms holds that distinction, but people forget.

He had an incredible day in that Super Bowl vs Den and won some huge games against great teams. It was a different era. He has two rings too. Simms was pretty good.

Im just playing Devils Advocate a lil.
