Default Houston Astros' Jeff Luhnow, AJ Hinch suspended 1 year

Houston Astros GM Jeff Luhnow and manager AJ Hinch have been suspended for one year after an MLB investigation found the team used technology to cheat during its World Series-winning 2017 season, it was announced Monday.

Additionally, MLB will fine the Astros $5 million and take away their first- and second-round draft picks in the 2020 and 2021 drafts, sources tell Passan.

They should have been stripped of their title, but that's a good amount of punishment.

Alex Cora's punishment will be worse.

    He will be fired.

The Astros just fired their GM and manager.

Also, Alex Cora's name is all over the MLB report.

Houston Astros are inspired by Tom Brady and Patriots.

I hope Goodell is paying attention to how you handle those using technology to steal signs.

The NFL is much smarter than MLB. Look at the difference in the way they handled steroids. MLB couldn't help soiling themselves over the whole thing. NFL made some fairly quiet suspensions and I'll bet you the NFL still roids like hell but as long as it is kept out of the papers, the league doesn't care.

Same thing here. Remember Sean Payton and Bountygate? One year suspension and he's still coaching the Saints today and nobody brings it up.

Former pitcher C.J. Nitkowski had a great response. Hinch, on two occasions, took a bat to the offending video equipment yet never specifically stated he disapproved of the set-up. And then the players said "Gee, if we'd only known our manager disapproved we would have stopped doing it." Major shoving their skipper under the bus.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

This doesn’t have anything to do with one sport handling scandal better than another. It’s that the NFL is wildly more popular than MLB. The NFL has fubarred so many scandals and they can do no wrong. MLB is striking swiftly and decidedly and is getting panned because it’s just not as popular and doesn’t make as much money.

The NFL doesn't have the balls to slam the Pats the way the MLB has slammed the Astros. Constant cheating, constant slaps on the wrist. In a way I don't really blame the Pats for doing it since they know the league doesn't really care.

Saw a tweet where this Red Sox fan wants Alex Cora fired. Then he added "Boston sports teams don't tolerate cheaters". I replied "(Looks at Belichick) smh" I didn't even mention Manny "Hey, look! I'm pregnant!" Ramirez. Maybe Manny was a tranny.

Do the right thing and strip them of their WS victory.

Cora is in trouble. He appears to be one of the instigators.

No wonder he is so popular in New England.
