I feel good with this new hire. I was frustrated with OC Rich Scangarello. He used "screen pass" plays way too much. WR Sutton was opened all the time.... WR Sanders was there, too. So frustrated! Now, I feel relieved. What a season!

His record with QBs is impressive, but it does point out how conservative the Broncos want their offense to be. They want to run the ball like S.F. and have Lock be like Garoppolo and not throw it too much.

This is just not true, Shurmur doesnt run a conservative offense....you can agree or disagree on whether he is a good selection for us, but there is no factual basis to saying he runs a conservative offense.

Well... NYG offense was marginally better than Denver's, at least statistically.

Don’t worry guys I know this is good in my gut just like when I told all of you flacco would crash and burn.....that’s how confident I am that this was a good upgrade....around the same time of year to......

Read that when NYG were looking st QB, Shurmer scouted Jones and Lock extensively, and he liked Lock better. So hes at least bery familiar with his tape. So he knows his traits and where he needs to get better right away.

Im also of the belief that he will help Fang with calling the game, and that will be a big help for him too.

He also met Lock personally, as his son who was a QB at Vanderbilt faced him. So theyve met already.

The more i think about it this was a great upgrade over Scangarello. I kno all the turnover isnt good, but at least they got better in the sideline.

I don't think Fangio was involved in calling the offense as much as others do. I think he was pretty hands off other than overarching strategy (be conservative, go for this 4th down, etc) but that, to me, isn't "calling the game".

I think the offense will completely be in Shurmur's hands. I am, however, glad there's more experience on the coaching staff.

I think having a guy who was already a HC, even a failed stint, can bef helpful to Fangio.

I think I may have learned how this thread closing happens. We shall see.

It just occurred to me --

I guess this means the Eli Manning dream is dead, boys. I doubt Eli is going to come play for the guy who benched him after 2 games this year. C'est la vie!

Eli won't go anywhere with an "entrenched" starter either. He said he hated being the backup and I think Lock is "entrenched" at this point at least for next year.
