you can expect the same thing at tackle yes....the best options to address tackle are in the draft. We are going to miss out on the top 3 prospects. At 15 we could potentially reach for a guy but then could be in the Bolles situation all over again where we reached and didnt have to. Honestly we should use our first rd pick for a big playmaker on either offense(WR) or defense(DL/CB/LB), and we should work it so we have 2 picks in rd 2 and take the Center from wisconsin and take the OT from Auburn or Houston.... That will help the talent out, and give us a option at tackle....
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

Speaking of stats, Jones had more TD’s in one game than Lock had in 5.

Can’t believe I’m just seeing this. I don’t hate sending Scangs packing it but it’s a surprise.

    Shurmur. Seems random

5th OC in 5 seasons. That’s pathetic. Hope the revolving door stop soon here.

McNabb is good. Bradford was rookie of the year under Shurmur, Case had his best season ever under him and regardless of win loss records. Daniel Jones far exceeded expectation while filling in for Manning this year. so I would say yeah I don't see any Superstars. You got a limited window with each of those players with him and all of them had some of their best seasons with him as their offensive coordinator or head coach.

I'd finally just learned how to spell Scangarello without googling it.

This feels like a competency play more than anything schematic. We know there was some fire to all the smoke we were hearing about midseason. I don't think Scangs ever rose to the occasion and didn't have the confidence of players and coaches.

I don't have any strong feelings for or against Shurmur -- but it fits with our current M.O. of going with experience while the trend around the league is to get younger. We'll see if it pays off.

I'm optimistic about it. I don't think this guy is the next coming of Walsh, but I do think he's had a good career as OC.

Always remember, two Us in Shurmur.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Agreed. I'm starting to buy into these old farts. Every time we hear about how an offense or player is going to "revolutionize" the NFL some old fart DC figures it out and ruins it forever.

Wade did it to Cam Newton and Carolina. Fangio set the blueprint against the Rams and flavor of the month "genius" Sean McVay for the Patriots to use in the last Super Bowl, etc.

Maybe the old fart OC is the way to go? I mean experienced fart.

The important thing for me personally is to not put too much in the flashes I saw from Scangs. All the promise in the Houston game and some things here and there are offset by how atrocious our offense was most of the year. I can't be so desperate to think scoring above 24 points is a goal in a game, it should be the norm.

I think Scangs was exceptional at play design and drawing up the initial first play scripts, but very very poor at calling plays and situational moments. Lack of aggression was well documented by Joe Flakey too. I think Shurmer and Vic know a lot of each other and whenxhe became available he was in.

I hope im right, more and more i am talking myself into this being a great move.
