How about Preacher, the Ennis comic?

As far as books go, what about the Steven Erikson series? That *has* to happen. I wonder if anyone has the movie rights and is planning something.
Y: The Last Man is currently in development at FX but who knows how long that will be in development hell. There is also a Sandman series in the works which could be interesting if done right.

A newer series I am just getting into that would be great is Saga. It is basically about normal characters who live in extraordinary times and are constantly trying to keep themselves safe from all the craziness. It genre hops between books but is grounded enough to keep me engaged in the characters which is the most important thing. Essentially a model the new Star Wars movies could adopt since they are moving away from the Skywalker story.

From New York Times bestselling writer BRIAN K.VAUGHAN (Y: THE LAST MAN, EX MACHINA) and critically acclaimed artist FIONA STAPLES (MYSTERY SOCIETY, NORTH 40), SAGA is the sweeping tale of one young family fighting to find their place in the worlds. When two soldiers from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war fall in love, they risk everything to bring a fragile new life into a dangerous old universe. Fantasy and science fiction are wed like never before in a sexy, subversive drama for adults. This specially priced volume collects the first arc of the smash hit series The Onion A.V. Club calls "the emotional epic Hollywood wishes it could make."

The Wicked and the Divine would be another good one, but its very high concept.

Every ninety years, twelve gods incarnate as humans. They are loved. They are hated. In two years, they are dead. The team behind critical tongue-attractors like Young Avengers and PHONOGRAM reunite to create a world where gods are the ultimate pop stars and pop stars are the ultimate gods. But remember: just because you're immortal, doesn't mean you're going to live forever.

A Sandman series would be awesome, if done correctly. The problem is that it might be possible to do correctly.

Was thinking the same! Y: Last Man was top shelf, but Saga offers more potential.

Be cool to finally get a Transmetropolitan adaptation too.

How about an East of West?

Ff7 itself is over 20 years old. And im sure theyll **** up the remake somehow, some way, theyll figure that out.

It was all ground breaking at the time, electronic RPGs destroyed Dungeons amd Dragons.

The original Playstation did things that were never seen before in gaming.

The best OG PlayStation game was the Tekken series, Tekken 2 specifically.

The greatest JRPGs of all time. You can get them on your phone. I recommend Final Fantasy 6 for a taste of the old school ones which was the pinnacle of them, then of course 7 which is a classic and 9 which was just fun. The remake of 7 is a PS4 exclusive which is a shame, but the newer ones have a wonky combat system and I think the remake has adopted it. I like the old turn based battles.

As far as converting Final Fantasy to a movie or show? Advent Children was OK and I actually saw The Spirits Within in theaters way back in the day and don't remember it. Eh... I love those games but they get some stupid story lines going that are way too complex. I couldn't even begin to explain the newer games but they look beautiful.

Dunkey explains the series the best:

ALSO! If anyone wants a fantastic podcast directly related to genre movies hosted by Kevin Smith (you should know him) and Mark Bernardin (an industry writer) I recommend Fatman Beyond: https://www.smodcast.com/channel/fatmanbeyond They cover all the ins and outs of upcoming shows and movies like we talk about in this thread and have great industry guests on. They do the show from the Scum and Villainy Cantina in L.A. and do good roundups, reviews, and bullshittery about all this stuff.
