Default 'He can be one of the best to ever play': Evaluating Courtland Sutton's 2019 season

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — As a second-round draft pick in 2018, Courtland Sutton posted respectable numbers in his rookie season as he entered the league behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

By the end of the 2018 season, though, Sutton found himself as the team’s No. 1 target. Thomas was traded to Houston before the deadline, and Sanders suffered an Achilles injury before the final four games.

In that limited stint as the team’s first option, Sutton’s numbers dropped. He recorded just 146 receiving yards in the final four games and had a pair of games with 25 yards or fewer.

I was wrong about Sutton, I never hated the pick, I just didn’t think he could separate in the NFL and be a true No1 ... but he’s getting open and winning 50/50 contests.

I thought it was a good pick because we had DT and sanders and he could be a good Number 2 to develop. Never thought he was this coachable or would become a true number 1 either. He was the guy when we traded DT and he had trouble getting open that year and catching the ball was a problem as well. He put the time in this summer to become a number 1 which is why him and Sanders had a tiff.....and why he has beasted....his route running is much improved and so is his quick twitch route ability.....now he consistently catches the ball as well.....

I always thought that he could potentially have a ceiling of a guy like marques colston. But I think my ceiling may be a little bit too low. He is in rare are when it comes to those 50-50 balls. And the acrobatic catches are ridiculous

he's basically AJ green, but more physical. . . i'd say he's a top 10-12 WR in the league right now, and he can still get better. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Top 5 easy IMO. Keep in mind his numbers were with garbage cans at QB for 10+ games. CS wont get the Love and hyoe machine cuz their offense has been trash for so long. Next year could put him in the map nationally
