They planned to get rid of Sanders, they had Sutton already.

They have nobody behind Chris Harris. Isaac Yiadom anybody? IF anything he regressed at times this year. He's not starter material.

Bryce Callahan? Will he ever stay off IR for a full season?
A rookie? NOt at #1 CB in his rookie year, unless you like getting a guy burned.

Unless they find a FA CB who can be the #1 they are screwed without Harris, because they just don't have any reserve talent at CB. Harris would like to be back in the slot more which is why he probably won't be back, but NO that is not a good thing for the Broncos.

Your telling me stuff I already know and have voiced concerns on....I told you the LR matters that's the point...nothing to do with the above post you just wrote....The fact is Attitude and how veterans behave what the say and how they carry themselves matters to a young team its been a problem since 2015 with some of our vet players.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU

No need. Jake has never been healthy enough to make it to the season. If he stays healthy this year, then fine. He can make the roster. Might even be good in two TE sets.

But, if not, if his knees explode in training camp again raining shrapnel all over the field, then he'll be cut. It's not as if he's making all that much money on his rookie deal.
I wish they wouldn't even waste roster spot in him. Dude will never make it.

    Brave...that's a stretch.

This all the way. I coached aau and bci teams that went to the national tournaments. Managing egos and attitudes was much harder than x and o basketball.

Well, obviously they need both. And have had neither. But, this team has suffered more than anything from lack of depth. They are just not that talented.

And some of their best players are UFAs this off-season and there are no obvious viable players behind them if they leave.

Can we also admit that the reason the season needed saving was because of Elway?

I don’t know - is every lawyer to blame for every person in jail

VJ and flacco were terrible calls

But there is a lot of moving parts in an nfl team

Sometimes the guy did it, was caught on five cameras, and all you can do it plead him out as well as you can.

Other times the attorney falls asleep mid-testimony and doesn't object to something brutally out of bounds and as a result, you end up there.

But let's be honest, TS was all Elway. CK, all Elway. That failed line, that's all Elway. Flacco, that's all Elway. VJ was all Elway. Almost every single issue with the team post SB victory has been on Elway.

Five weeks ago the board was morbid and most people were slowly realizing the shape we were truly in. Then Lock plays well and all is forgiven. That's not logical anymore than ignoring the past two splendid drafts we've had.

There is a difference between failure and being culpable for that failure

TS never worked out, but it looked like he had something initially, they made a call, it didn’t work out

CK was a gamble, game manager that it could continue in vikings form could ride our defence

Sometimes things just don’t work out

I hated the keenum signing, but I don’t blame elway for everything that went wrong

BUT I dan acknowledge his failings - I just don’t link them to the total failure of our franchise, other cogs were turning

Not exactly. We can call it about 62.793% Elway give or take 10ish%.

Elway wanted to drop VJ after year one but was vetoed by Ellis. It's debatable whether Elway's alternate plan would have been better in the short and (as yet to be determined) long run.

Elway's defenders point to stability as a reason in his favor - the fact that he wanted to fire his own hire a year in isn't in his favor.

But it does show that he will admit he screwed up that decision way beyond any recognition and wanted to not waste another year on a known failure. Year 2 of VaJayJay is all on Ellis, not Elway.

I think Kubiak had something to do with Trevor

Elway's solution was Mike Shanahan, and that's not a solution at all. Ellis didn't force Elway to not hire Shanahan Jr.,, either.

And Kubiak has Elway's ear, and TS got two years as a starter.
