Saw that. Dude was an unheralded offensive genius. Great football man. Sucks.

He was the 49ers QB coach from '79-'82, which was also the 1st for years of Joe Montana's professional career. He also spent 13 of his last 15 years of his coaching career as the QB coach, then later OC, of Pickens HS. Speaks to me of someone who just loved the game.

He was a very fine coach and was always respected in Cincinnati. Ohio lost a legend and a good man. Rest in peace.

He was a savage. My dad told me about this, and apparently Glanville was detested in Ohio.

Wyche also feuded with Houston Oilers coach Jerry Glanville, whom he called a phony. He had the Bengals make an onside kick when they led Glanville's team by 45 points, and Wyche waved derisively at Glanville as he ran off the field following a 61-7 win near the end of the 1989 season.
