Default Broncos reach agreement with rookie Ojemudia on 4-year contract

DENVER — The Broncos have reached an agreement with rookie cornerback Michael Ojemudia on a four-year contract that will include a signing bonus of $1,015,560.

Ujemudia was the first of three, third-round draft picks, No. 77 overall, selected by the Broncos in late-April.

He had three interceptions each of his past two seasons at Iowa. With A.J. Bouye the Broncos’ top cornerback and Bryce Callahan expected to be among the top three corners providing he has recovered sufficiently from his second foot surgery in a 12-month span, Ojemudia will compete for one of the team’s top three corner positions.

Default Broncos make a series of roster moves

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos made a series of roster moves Monday to get closer to the NFL's new mandated 80-man roster limit in order to conduct full-squad training camp practices.

The Broncos waived defensive back Kahani Smith, quarterback Riley Neal, linebacker Tre' Crawford, wide receiver Kelvin McKnight, running back Khalfani Muhammad, defensive back Shakial Taylor and center Nico Falah.

Denver also released defensive end Joel Heath.

As part of the league's agreement with the NFL Players Association, teams are required to reduce their 90-man roster to 80 players by either July 28 or Aug. 16.

#Broncos veteran DT Kyle Peko informed the team that he is opting out due to the Coronavirus pandemic, source said. He would have provided depth in Denver.

Default Broncos place T Elijah Wilkinson on Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, G Netane Muti on Non-Football Injury (NFI) list

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver has placed tackle Elijah Wilkinson on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and placed rookie guard Netane Muti on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.

The Broncos also waived undrafted wide receiver Zimari Manning and placed defensive tackle Kyle Peko on the Reserve/Higher Risk Opt-Out list.

Wilkinson, who posted a photo of his left foot in a boot earlier this offseason, is expected to compete for the team's starting left tackle job. Muti, a sixth-round pick, suffered a Lisfranc injury in 2019 and was expected to serve as a reserve player.

Both players can be activated at any time during training camp and will continue to count against the team's 80-man roster limit.

Check the date. It was posted last year. It was his rookie contract.
