Ok, maybe a cheesy game but it's the off season. Lets say you've been hired to be the Broncos GM for the 2020 season and beyond, what roster moves, coaching changes (if any) and draft picks do you make to return the Broncos back to prominence?

1. cut flucco.
2. sign tebow as a backup.
3. draft Laviska Shenalt Jr. Draft that Clemson tackle that manhandled Chase Jones. Draft another Guard and 2 Tackles.
4. Resign Simmons. Keep Von and Chris. Maybe Franchise Chris or try to keep to a 1-2 year deal. Maybe resign Wolfe if he isnt asking for a ton. start Dremont Jones or look to add more pieces to d line or another corner.
Will be interesting to see if Cowboys resign Awuzie.
wish :Offer San Fran two 1st rounders for Kyle Shannahan,

Part of CHJ’s preseason restructuring was a No Franchise Tag agreement.
Awuzie is a FA in 2021, you might be thinking of Byron Jones.

Draft
1st round— Cooper Dejean CB
2nd round— Jack Sawyer OLB
3rd round— Will Shipley RB
4th round— Ricky Pearsall WR
5th round— Ladd McKonkey WR
6th round— Cash Jones RB
7th round— Carson Steele RB
Basically any of my mock drafts but mainly ones that have us taking Oline in round 1.
Cooper or Green in free agency. Just shore up the WR corp and tick that box closed.
Draft a lot of offensive lineman, but see if you can pick up Castanozo. It will be incredible to shore up the LT position, and get us a real veteran there. At that point Bolles can either be a backup, move to guard, or ****.
What is the origin of the phrase “shore up” and what does it really mean?

Cooper if he’s available, Green or the skinny kid for Jets otherwise.
I don’t make a roster purge, the continuity giving the winning culture its best chance of surviving a long offseason, but I improve depth by replacing current starters and making them backups. Leary is an example of the exception though, I don’t think he can stay on field anymore. Todd Davis is an example of a starter that needs to be a backup/STer, apparently he’s popular at Dove Valley for whatever reason and they have enough cap space it keep his salary. Better coverage is needed at that starting position for the 100th straight year, though.
Keep Bolles, Wilkinson but replace them in starting lineup with draft picks AND stopgap FA’s, just like they did with the QB situation last year. Make my choices Cordy Glenn and Kelechi Osemele in FA because I don’t think they’d adversely effect (or affect, w/e) the comp pick for losing Wolfe, CHJ and Shelby Harris (who I try to resign even though he’s dead to me). The list of draft LT’s is long/deep but Shelby made sure half of those LT’s are out of reach; Thomas, Leatherwood, Jones, Tega, Becton. The list of RG’s, for me, consist of college RT’s that can play RG’s until James gets hurt again; Wirfs, Wills, Terrence Steele and Isaiah Wilson. Make mine Becton and Wilson.
Bring back McGovern if he isn’t looking for P-Stiff money, continuity again, plus he’s better than P-stiff. If not go draft route; Cushenberry struggled this season but he’s a great talent, Cesar Ruiz is probably my #1 choice but I’m not hearing his name mentioned as declaring for the draft.
Broncos need to fill holes on DL, try to keep Harris if I could, explore trade for Calais Campbell ... Jagoffs will need to create cap space in order to move on from Foles and I have always thought Campbell is the missing link to Von/Chubb puzzle. In fact, now that you mention it, I might consider eating Foles salary for a 2nd round pick, ala Browns/Brent ... not sure if a trade makes a difference for his contract but I have the cap space and I’m a whore for draft picks.
I definitely find better depth at OLB, I try to keep Attaochu and extend Von but the great Malik Reed experiment was predictably impotent. Von is going into last season of contract and Chubb is coming off injury.
My biggest cause for uncertainty is CB, are we coveting the position like before or are we devaluating the position so Fangio can run more zone? Personally, if I’m GM I’m picking players that can fit his scheme off a list of CB’s that don’t need his scheme to play in the NFL ... if that means Okudah in the 1st round Fangio will just have to deal with it.
I’d explore many trades for veteran players, Patrick Peterson had a forgettable season ... great place to start, buy low.

Sign Castonzo, Thuney and a CB (Byron Jones or Bradberry)
Draft to finalize OL turnover. Leatherwood, Wirfs or Jackson in round 1.
Grab CB and WR next 2 picks.
Keep an eye on Daniel Bituli, ILB. If he gets to round 3, jump on him. Not our biggest need, but dude can play.
Finish draft with more WR, DB, DT and interior OL project.
As a Vol homer, here are the names that matter:
Trey Smith, OG...best OG in the draft by far. Maybe the best OL. Lung blood clots lead to questions about health. He is limited in practice but is a dominant monster on game day. Will NFL teams allow him to practice part time? I think so. May also go back to school.
Daniel Bituli, ILB...Tackling machine. Vols struggled early without him on the field. D improved immediately upon his return.
Juwaun Jennings, WR...junkyard dog type of WR. You need one of these on the roster. Opposing teams hate him. Always on the edge of dirty...occasionally crosses it. Home fans will love him. And he has skill and production. Vols go to guy.
Marquez Callaway, WR...the more polished deep threat. High points the ball incredibly well. He'll have a good career.
Dominic Wood-Anderson, TE...JuCo transfer 2 years ago who is underutilized due to poor QB play. Solid all around player. Could blow up at combine.
Darrell Taylor, Edge Rusher...He's the one I'm not sure about. Emotional leader but may be 1 trick pony. Clearly Vols best pass rusher. New coaches helped his draft stock in a huge way. Doesn't definitely pass my eye test.

Speaking of Tennessee, Trey Smith is my 3rd round pick at G if he’s there.
