Even Elam went through a rough patch, if fact, numbers wise Elam had some seasons around the same period in his career that looked like what McManus is dealing with.
He did some off season work with a different coach and cleared it up.
I'm not as worried about McManus as I am blows his wadman....
But our Pinter's get good when we cut them.
McManus issues aren't so much the misses as it is when he misses and what it costs us, but it can be worked out.
I don’t think they should replace McManus, unless they can.

They'll replace McManus only when he starts demanding Prater money.
Elam was great and we were lucky to find Prater (except the hooker schtick) but when Prater wanted too much money - boom - out he goes and we eventually settled on McManus.
That's the thing about kickers. They're taken for granted until they miss a key FG but nobody really wants to spend money on them because there are a dozen more just like him selling insurance and going to tryouts. What's killing them now are the extra points. Tired of watching kickers shanking the PAT.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
Prater went after drinking incident. Only the front office is allowed to be lushes.
I have no problem with McManus 9 times out of 10 but his little public tantrum vs SD kinda cheesed me off (throwing your helmet, really?) and this time you could see him go straight to Fangio and essentially beg to do it from 57 - then he missed it. It’s some Vanderjagt shit. Normally, he’s fine.
I will say, however, that he’s not clutch. If it comes down to a long kick to win or tie, I expect him to miss. Also, his kicking goes the way of the rest of the team. If they’re having a bad day, he normally does too. Bottom line, he’s a fine kicker, but if it comes down to him making a 53 yard FG to win a playoff game or Super Bowl, count it as a loss.

I still really like Prater, F everybody else. Lol
That kick was so close. Plenty of distance, missed by inches.
You can question whether the call was right, but if that's your profession (kicker), why the F wouldn't you feel confident and push to get a chance?
