Default Let this sink in for one minute

At 4-8 and nowhere near the grown-up table of the playoff conversation, the Denver Broncos find themselves fighting to hold off a slice of team history even many 50-somethings haven't seen.

That's because the Broncos, who finished 5-11 in 2017 and 6-10 last season, haven't had three consecutive seasons of double-digit losses since they had five in a row from 1963 to 1967. Let that sink in for a minute.

Lyndon B. Johnson was president. The Big Mac was introduced. Carl Yastrzemski finished with baseball's triple crown. And the Beatles released "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."

Another stat is that from Elway's rookie season to last year, 36 or so years, the Broncos have only had seven losing seasons, and two of them came in the last two years.

19k no shows this past Sunday.

I don't think that is accurate. Elway had 2 losing seasons, McDouchebag had a 4-12 season which brought Von Miller to town and then the pair in recent recorded history, makes four minimum since Elway's rookie season.

    In fact, there's been 7 losing seasons since 1983 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...roncos_seasons

Article said 7 losing seasons, I was typing it while on a conference call and have no idea where the three came from that I typed. Just a mistake on my part.

Why do you think I've been saying (and a lot more people than me) that John Elway should be fired? Objectively, this is the worst the Broncos have been since the 1970s well before Pat Bowlen took over the team.

People can make all the excuses they want but :this one is on John."

The horrible draft and FA choices are well documented. He's floundered hopelessly making stupid QB decisions for 5 years now (maybe Drew Lock will be the guy, we hope, but nobody's sure).

Anybody not named "Elway" would have been fired already.

It looks like people are so shell shocked by all the losing that they have zero expectations and will just tolerate failure after failure and not just revolt.

I'm surprised it was only 20,000 no-shows. In most NFL cities it would have been about 40,000. People criticize the east coast, but the media in NY or Boston or Philly would crucify the GM if he turned in such a performance.

Are you saying this is Elway's fault?

Slim, I think you have a healthier attitude towards this than I do!

I'm just kinda bitter and angry and grumpy when I can't enjoy Sunday watching the games.

Well, there is no sense in getting upset over things you have no control over.

For example, I tried to make MO love me, but I can't.

I would totally like to ride a small elephant all over town but I would definitely NOT want to be dangling from a helicopter only to have this giant shark leap out of the water and bite my leg! That would suck so bad that even being Batman would not be full compensation! (And waking up in the morning and thinking "Hey! I'm Batman!" would actually be pretty awesome.)

    I count SB’s, y’all count wins/losses.

The more seasons we stack up the less those wins/losses mean.
