All of a sudden Sunday became so much more interesting!
Finally! I cant wait to see this game.

Game went from zero interest to 100% interest. I'm only sad that the Broncos have fought this so hard for so long.
Elway literally had to be forced to take this obvious step. They are only starting Drew Lock as an absolute LAST alternative after their idiot Joe Flacco plan blew up in their faces, and then Flacco got injured, then the guy Fangio REALLY wanted as his backup --- scrub Brandon Allen went out and showed why he was a little regarded 6th round practice squad QB.
They were left without alternatives and still they tried to somehow find something, anything OTHER than just naming Drew Lock as the starter.
Why was such an obvious step, such a ******* struggle for them?
The only explanation I can think of that covers these facts is that they want to go right back to Joe Flacco and give it one more shot with a veteran QB in 2020 and fear that the fans will react negatively to benching Drew Lock for Flacco.
Sweet! Bought tickets for this game months ago and looks like I picked a good one! I give you my full QB analysis after a few beers from the nosebleed section!
Seriously though good or bad, I’ll have to remember not to overreact either way. Hope he throws for 5 tds though...
Assume that he's going to suck. The Broncos refused to even let him practice for a month, then wasted a significant portion of the teams' reps for the last couple of weeks on Brandon Allen. Even this week Brandon Allen got significant practice reps, even though it was blindingly obvious from the beginning that the only logical thing to do was to start Lock, so he should get 100% of the first team reps.
They have given Lock almost no support and are grudgingly letting him start: "alright Drew, it looks like there's no alternative. You're going to have to go in. Try and not make me look bad here for putting you in!"
It's certainly not with any real long term commitment inside Dove Valley whatever the fans might think.
Exactly the opposite. I assume he will suck. It will not matter at all.
Peyton Manning threw 28 Ints his rookie year and the Colts went 3-13. He turned out alright.
I insist that the Broncos have to totally commit to Drew Lock and go to an offensive scheme that he can run -- exactly like the Ravens totally scrapped the Joe Flacco offense when they put in Lamar Jackson.
It amounted to admitting: "Lamar Jackson cannot run the same plays that we ran with Flacco, so we're going to get rid of anything in the playbook that he's not good at and only run those plays he can do well. That way we'll maximize his chances for success."
That worked out pretty well in Baltimore. If Lock is only comfortable with RPO plays right now, then that's exactly what Denver's offense should be -- for right now.
Taylor the system to the player and see if you can get him to have success instead of the "old school" philosophy of "every square peg must be beaten into shape so it can fit into the round hole!"
That crap doesn't work any more. The Broncos need to stop trying to get every player to fit their system and start picking players with talent and maximizing what they can do with that talent. Like the Patriots do every year. They run different schemes depending on what players they currently have on the roster and what those players can do well. They try not to ask their players to do things they don't do well, but put them in the best chance to succeed.
So, if Drew Lock can't run all the plays of the "Fangio System" that was designed for Joe Flacco, here's a thought!
Let Lock only run plays he does well! Let's get rid of the 5 and 7 step drops out of center that the OL can't block anyway. Let's roll him out and take advantage of his athleticism.
Its up to the Coaching staff to ensure he WONT suck. They need to adapt the playbook to HIM and not be insistent on running plays that will be too much. A lotta shotgun. I hope Scangs doesnt try too hard to reinvent the wheel.
