Thread: Drew Lock is the starter

I'm not going to be surprised or particularly disappointed if Lock comes out and throws 3 picks. I'm going to blame Elway and Fangio and not Lock.

They have not committed to him and done everything they could to get him to succeed. Quite the reverse. This has been a totally half-assed and grudging last minute commitment when they felt they have exhausted every other choice and have run out of other options.

Starting Drew Lock proves the utter futility of the entire Elway plan to "win now." So, naturally they are resisting like mad.

As far as I'm concerned if Lock fails it will be simply another indictment of John Elway. He COULD succeed if they were any good at developing him! He has athletic talent and unlike Paxton he is willing to do the work.

So, why can't he have success? His failures can only be attributed to the Broncos coaches not making his development a priority. "Is it a priority?" "Not really." -- Vic Fangio not 2 weeks ago.

Im not expecting a win here, just want to see if the kid is competent enough to be our starter going forward.

Will be interesting to see how accurate the draft-analyzers scouting reports are on Lock. If they're right we should see some nice long balls to Sutton along with some accuracy issues at times - and an inability to perform under duress. Will be nice to see some arm talent at least for a change.

Broncos had to start him. There was no other option.

They could have gone with Allen some more if they really wanted to.

So, the coaching staff calls out a long pass to Courtland, who runs the route perfectly, but Lock over throws the ball and it gets intercepted, that should fall on the coaching staff?

No. That would clearly be Elway's fault because Cugel reasons.

I think everyone should use an Elway avatar just to pissoff Cugel.
