I was under duress lol. I hate the Mofo, I said all offseason how he is a bad teammate, fans hate him and he is still riding off his 2012 run.....Bmore fans love that Jackson just beat Flacco's best TD season with Bmore…..Many fans there were so over him......

Its better to cut bait and move on, but the reality Jaded is alluding to is our backups would tentatively be case rypien and allen, that's tough to Deal with if Lock gets hurt......

Unless someone trades for him, we're stuck paying for him either way. So assuming he won't be a locker room travesty, why not keep him as a back-up? That said...thanks for the unnecessary restructure that never panned out, Mr. Elway

I kind of assume he is that travesty. His sideline demeanor just radiates toxicity. It was a bad restructure, and a bad trade. What else is new? I love Elway but Lock is the first thing he's done right regarding QB's since Manning. I mean, we're the franchise who thought Keenum was going to be solid.

How so? You're on record saying ~ playoffs or tank. So, if that's the case, why would it be smart to keep Flacco?

It defies your own logic. If Lock goes down we want the worst, shittiest backup that ever lived to come in and lose every game to help out our draft position.

    Right?

Granted, that could be Flacco, but it could also be anyone else for less money

If we cut him, we only owe what his his 2019 salary would have been, so the restructure doesn't matter. It just pushed part of money next year. It doesn't cost the Broncos anything extra. However, and I might be wrong on this, if they kept him they would also owe his original 2020 salary...so, cut bait. Let me see if I can find the article that explains it much better.

Correct. We owe the balance of this year no matter what, next year has zero guarantees and wasn't changed. So we can pay ~14 million to cut him or ~28 million to have him..

    Bye bye Joe.

This seems like a no brainer right? Why would we pay 20mil+ for a backup? Allen costs peanuts. Use that 60+ mil cap space, draft smart for the 3rd year and let's ride bitches!

Flaccos remaining salary is nothing compared to the revelation of Lock. His low 2nd rd salary will provide them massive savings for a few years.

No reason to even have him on the sidelines.

Dude is as good as gone.
