at this point, i can only assume that they're going to waive lock, since he's "not ready," and they need the roster spot for a more polished option-- like allen or rypien. . .

If we waive him they don't have to use a roster spot. They just offer him more to join their PS. They only have to use a roster spot if they sign him directly from our PS. Maybe they didn't sign him because they didn't want to take a roster spot, but some extra cash might not be too much to pay to get him on your PS.
I'm not saying this is the case, just spitballing.

I REALLY hope Lock is our guy, if not, there are some seemingly good options in the draft this year
