Would Steven Montez be a guy to take a late round flyer on as a potential backup to Lock and potential developmental guy? I always thought he had some transferable skills for the NFL game.

Maybe...but the areas he is deficient in never really improved over the course of his college career. Maybe that was poor coaching, but most likely he either just doesn't get it or doesn't have the skills t improve in those areas. I see him as practice squad fodder at best. JMO

tyler polumbus said that both wills and wirfs killed it today. . . between those two, thomas and becton, i think there's a chance one of them could still be there for us at fifteen. . . we need a run on QBs to happen. . . throw in chase young, okudah, derrick brown, kinlaw, simmons, maybe epenesa, and it's certainly possible that we can find a good value. . . especially if jeudy and lamb also go before we pick. . . i would give up one of our thirds to move up a few spots if one of those OLs drops out of the top ten, which should happen. . . obviously, this discussion will have a lot more context once FA happens. . .

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I agree. I think Lamb and Thomas are going to both slide because if the Combine hype train. The only x factor is Gruden and Mayock. Who showed last year the value production over triangle. And theyre right in front of us
