Just get me a top tier tackle. Don’t trade down and get the next best thing. Solidify it.
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
it's too early to project how the details will play out. . . but they're gonna need at least one tackle in their top few picks, regardless. . .
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
I would stay away from FA's at the moment and Hope we get some return to form from James next year. Personally I would probably shut him down and give him his best chance to get healthy. To me we need a high caliber draft pick OT. We can find that next year in rd 1, I think. Thomas should be our target but Austin Jackson in the top 15 is very much in play. We wont have the Bolles issues with either of them and both have more consistent technique, because he has a much stronger mental Makeup. Bolles is actually a Servicable LT for the majority of the game, but he loses his head and makes mental mistakes to damn much and it just steamrolls downhill....he just isn't mentally tough enough to overcome a bad play consistently. It steam rolls into numerous bad plays and bad technique, and he isn't mentally tough enough to see that or take accountability for it consistently.
For me I want Thomas, but don't believe we will have a shot at him unless we have a top 6 draft pick. Jackson for me is the next best thing for LT as I think 10 or 11 is more likely our ending draft spot, and he should be in play there as a top 15 prospect, Unless we feel a guy like Murray at ILB or Okudah at CB is a better prospect and in play to fit a team need while going BPA.
