Guide me, Nomad. I love me a good LT. #premierposition
There are 3 potential Left Tackles for the top 20 right now that I see for next year at this point. You have Thomas from Georgia most likely a top 5-10 pick, Jackson from USC top 15 and then Trey Adams from Washington. Early scouting reports are that the tackle class is decent, but its still early and rankings for Jackson seem to be all over the map as well. There is Mekhi Benton From Louisville and Tristan Wirfs from Iowa that some say will be a late 1st early 2nd rd pick as well....
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

The OT class is loaded, but all sorts of different situations going on. Some are super raw and new to football, but athletic as hell. A handful should have 10 year careers...but as RTs. I said 6 earlier, but there are 8 OL who could easily go round 1. My pick if not Thomas.. Leatherwood.

Here are some of the names to keep an eye on...

Andrew Thomas, Georgia. Real Deal. Stud. That is all.

Tristan Wirfs, Iowa. After Thomas, Gets the most consistent love. Very athletic. Plays RT. Expected to be LT.

Prince Tega Wanagho, Auburn. He's a badass, but isn't equally adept at pass and run blocking.

Tyler Biadasz, Wisconsin. Clearly the #1 interior guy. Can fix G or C.

Creed Humphrey, Oklahoma. RS Sophomore so not everyone discusses him. No sure thing to declare. Strong. Interior guy.

Trey Adams, Washington. Model LT. Injury waiting to happen. Hard Pass.

Off the radar to some High Risers:
Alex Leatherwood, Alabama. Love this kid. Played spot LT 2 years ago as needed and did great. Back to G in 2018 when Bama's top 10 LT was healthy. Back to LT this year and is killing it. He's the 1 I want

Austin Jackson, USC. Great athlete. Doing really well ona bad team. Playing his way into possible top 10-20 range.

    Others to note:
Lucas Huang, TCU. Very raw and new to football.
Trey Smith, Tennessee. Stud OG but has lung issue. Likely returns to school.
Calvin Thockmorton, Oregon. Evals are all over the map.

Forgot Walker Little of Stanford. Also very solid option.

Good stuff, Smilin. Bolles isn't the answer, and Lock needs protection. I'm not into giving up on Lock, and drafting another 'prove to me you can be an NFL QB'. Lock was just as highly regarded last year at this time as any of the QBs now.

I don't think many evaluators had Lock as high as Fromm, Herbert or Tua. Maybe not even Eason. If the right QB were to fall, I'd be fine grabbing them and then going OL with the next 2-3 picks. We have a lot of draft capital to move around the board. If our first 5 picks included a QB, dt and 3 OL, I wouldn't bitch.

Is Herbert really that good? I'll give Fromm, and Tua credit because they play NFL type defenses throughout the season...same as Lock.

Mixed reviews but I like him. I think he'll go top 12.

Way to inconsistent last year made him go back to school. It was a good call cause he will probably go top 10 after Tua to Miami....he is having a much stronger year now.

Herbert is the exact QB Elway likes. I'm hoping he is good, because I have a feeling he's gonna be a Bronco.

I expect lock to start the buffalo game barring Allen channeling Brady or something.....

I don't see the 8 tackles talent wise you speak of. I see maybe 4 for rd 1. Everyone is touting the Alabama guy.....I don't see consistency or athleticism needed for rd 1 However.....Doesn't mean he wont be awesome.....could even be a steal in rd 2 or 3......but I'm not so sure there are more then 4 that make it in rd 1. Then again teams are so desperate for OT help there could be 8 taken just because of need.....

Should be interesting to see. I know the overall class is considered better then years previous so it will be intersetin gto see who breaks out come draft time....We need 2 OT in the first 3-4 rds this draft in my eyes....Bolles is a bust, James is a injury staple. Wilkinson will be much better replacing Leary.

If we can solve the bookends in the draft or If James magically gets healthy, Having Risner, McGovern and Wilkinson is pretty solid inside especially if OT gets fixed...
