I thought Elway doesn't like Alabama players.

Bobby Humphrey. But that was obviously many, many moons before Elway was in charge.

Wasn't that even in the supplemental draft?

Yeah, 1989 Supplemental Draft. Humphrey had a knee injury, if memory serves, and declared late. It’s the only one I knew off the top of my head. There’s four others, but no real names, since I went and looked. Only one played any regular season games.

Triandos Luke, WR, 2004, 6th round. 10 games played.
    Ahmaad Galloway, RB, 2003, 7th.
    Curtis Alexander, RB, 1998, 4th.
    Calvin Culliver, RB, 1977, 8th.

Triandos Luke was Alabama’s leading receiver with Brodie Croyle (Chiefs QB) in 2003 and Croyle and Tyler Watts sharing snaps in 2002. Galloway was a big back who sat behind several guys, most notably Shaun Alexander at Alabama. Curtis Alexander was Alabama’s leading rusher in 1997. Shared time with Shaun Alexander. Freddie Kitchens, yep, that Freddie Kitchens, was his quarterback. Calvin Culliver was mostly a backup running back for Bear Bryant from 1973-76. He led the team in rushing as a sophomore in 1974. In 1975 and 1976 he backed up Johnny Davis, who played 10 seasons in the NFL for Tampa Bay and Cleveland, but only ran for just over 1,000 yards in his career.

Thus concludes today’s Alabama history lesson.

Interesting context for Wr's...another reason for me why I don't buy the Ruggs Hype.....Give me a DL or OL player unless you get really want and can get Lamb or Jeudy at WR, Case can be made for Laviska, but he has some injury concerns....It's just better to go OL or DL for this team, even trade back grab extra picks and dominate day 2 of the draft in rds 2 and 3 with high ceiling players to develop.......

I don't understand how see WR isn't seen as a big need.......Hamilton and Patrick can't cut it in that #2 role, it's been 2 years of basically nothing from them now. Hamilton may have some success in the slot this upcoming season though.

Look at the FA class below though its so f'in wack, and the few guys that are good are going to be stupid expensive, vs a 2nd rd cheap draft pick in a very strong WR class.......

We would be negligent in not finding more weapons for lock, fix the OL get him some more help. If we bypassed Wr in rd 1 and 2 I wouldnt be pissed but I would be irritated if we we did not address it by round 3.

As you said, its a deep WR class so taking a WR that high really doesnt make a lot of sense when we have bigger needs elsewhere. There are plenty of great WR's in this draft.

that's a fair rebuttal but the class is only really deep in the first 3 rds. We know there are always gems to be found all over the draft but the top 90 picks is where the true talent of the class seems to lie......the best value seems to line up in rd 2, maybe rd 3.
