Remember all the raving on here about how we needed to be more like the Raider's front office a couple years ago? 14 years of top 10, and mostly top 5 picks, they have one winning season, and they are the "model" to follow.
I meant hitting homeruns when you have the highest pick in franchise history.

And some criticized him for not taking the DT (drawing a blank on his name).

Lock should be here a lot longer than Elway. Elway's deal runs out in 2 more years.

But if Lock and Fant end up being solid and a big part of a Broncos resurgence? That means the dude crushed it. So...time will tell.

    Sorry brah. Respectfully disagree.

How many GMs can you name with a better record?

    Go ahead.

    I'll wait.

I mean, he's a nice enough guy. He clearly cares about the team. Yeah, we give him flack for being on a negative kick lately. But you know what I've found? I've found that a lot of times people are negative about something, cheer when it goes better, and then 'forget' they were wrong. At least he's strongly on the record.

Someone who had previously bemoaned JFE a lot as GM left me a MHS about 'fire Elway lol' mocking me for being a critic of his. Well, not mocking, he's the homie. My point is simple - I think people get irked with the long posts and the sources he has, but it's also that there's a point in there. When things look bleak, it's easy to point it out, and when things are good it's easy to just give out free passes. Cugel at least started out more Pro-Elway and over time he's at this point. Guess what guys, we've sucked since the SB. It's not exactly shocking that someone might feel that way. And for as much shit as he gets about the plans of Elway, those arguments makes are just as valid as any of the homer stuff I've read.

We will leave Cugel alone. The shitting on him is worse than his 'bad posts'.

    Agreed.

No problem with Cugel giving his opinion. Thats what makes the boards good as long as people arent getting stupid.

    Cugel is good to go.

    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

When you say better record, what do you mean exactly?

I said Elway, overall, has made more mistakes than not if we are measuring his results to this moment--leaving out our projections of how well Lock and Fant will play in the future.

    I can argue that one.

If you mean W/L record, I bet that's easy to find out and not that interesting.

If you mean all the decisions...that takes some work, but you have to be clear about what you are measuring and how you are measuring it. There's no simple formula--the best you could do would be to make a formula, find agreement that the formula is at least ok-ish, and see what it says about all the GMs (including Elway). Lot of work, not sure if PFF or STATs or someone hasn't already done it.

I feel like this kind of analysis would support my claim, it's my gut feel, but right now I ain't got time for all that. Maybe when work slows down.

I don't want you to think I'm backing down from my claim though!!
