Good for Sanders and good for the Broncos. Dude played out of his mind here and was always pretty classy even during the last few lean years. Just hope we can turn this into good picks and a better team. Sucks to see him go but I am happy for him and happy for the Broncos for moving on and admitting they are rebuilding. That is the first step in moving in the right direction.

Sanders gave us everything he had while he was here. It was a great run and I am glad he is going to a contender.

I expect the flood gates to open and seeing more veterans moved out. If only anyone would take Flaccno for a ham sandwich...

I wouldn't say 'won'. They get what looks to be the #95 pick in the draft for Sanders, about 40 'points' using Rich Hill draft value model. They give up a high 5th for a low 4th--say 5-10 spots, about 2 points of draft value. So, 42 points, the equivalent of the 93d pick in the draft.

It's better than nothing, but the conversion rate on a #93 pick to starter is shaky. For purposes of moving up in the first round, it's enough capital to jump from #5 to #4, or maybe even #3. Could jump from #4 to #3, but not to #2. Could jump from #35 or so (first pick in 2d round) to about #25. (Using just the value from this trade, not other picks)

Hate to say it, but the trade looks great if the 49ers really blow the rest of their season, and I don't like that position...

Elway says Tim Patrick will be back after the bye week.
First time someone within the organization has said that.

Elway when asked if Emmanuel expressed a desire to be traded: "Yes, he did...Emmanuel had issues and we had issues."
"We were able to get the value that we thought was fair."

Elway on whether or not he anticipates any more deals: "Possibly. Don't know yet. We'll see how it goes."
He says they have not received in any interest in Chris Harris Jr. recently.

    Any chance Elway trades himself?

When asked if he can explain what he means when he said "what happened with the Tennessee game," Elway said: "Nope. Not getting into that."

John Elway: "I think eventually with what happened after the Tennessee game and where we were and the value we were getting for him, decided it was the best thing for our team to trade him."

Gotta love elway bringing up "what happened with the Tennessee game", then not wanting to get into it.

This is almost certainly a lie. And an odd lie at that. I'd think he'd want to give teams the impression that there is a lot of interest in him.

It's almost like he's being petulantly defiant today with everything going so poorly and everyone criticizing him --

    - We traded Emmanuel Sanders because he's an *******.
    - No offers for CHJ.
    - Maybe we will or maybe we won't bring Lock off of IR.

    Like, wtf man?

Yeah, he made a nice deal in the Sanders trade but otherwise he's acting bizarre today.

Like, seriously? Sanders helped you win a title and has been a consummate professional and performer and you're going to shit on him on the way out? Eff off with that shit.

IF DMac, Tyler and Nick are correct, they are speculating that Emmanuel was upset because he was not targeted in the first half in the Tennessee game, and he removed himself from the rest of the game. If this is true, I respect John for not mentioning it, and for anything else that many have happened.

It was terrible. And even if he hadn't received a single offer for CHJ - lie to us and drum up a market for him. And how is it even under consideration that they wouldn't bring Lock off of IR? He's like, "oh yeah Tim Patrick is for sure coming off IR - but Lock? Ehhh we don't know. We may want to see how Flacco performs in weeks 12-17."
