Just upgraded from iPhone X to Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, and Apple Watch 3 to Samsung Gear Active 2.

So far like the Note 10+ more than the iPhone X and so far like the Apple Watch I had more than the Gear.

The phone is more important though so so far Samsung is winning my current upgrade.

So does your home office. I've said too much.

Hey Davi, are you able to send texts/make calls on the phone when it's locked with a google assistant? I can only seem to do this with Bixby, google tells me that the phone has to be unlocked to do that which defeats the purpose.

If you have it locked with a password, pin, fingerprint, etc, No. It would defeat the purpose of the security and allow people to use your phone without permission.

However, you can set it to stay unlocked when doing certain things. For instance, if it's connected to your vehicle bluetooth you can set it to stay unlocked so you can do all the voice commands, etc. Or you could use Android auto while driving.

I have the finger print and facial but this works perfectly fine with Bixby through the lock screen, same security issue as google would be...

Must be Samsung trying to make theirs the king of the hill.

    I think it's a flaw of Samsung's security.

Thinking on it it probably isn't that big a deal.

When directly using the phone I can be looking at it and the facial ID will kick in and use google for everything.

When not holding the phone I can use the watch to initialize a call/text. Only thing that sucks about the watch is I swear Bixby needs a damn hearing aid.

I think I am a liar. tested this on my way home and it looks like Bixby on the phone requests the biometric unlock just like google does.

If you don't need the security and having it unlocked is more important remove the biometrics and it'll work fine. If you need the security start using Android auto when you drive and the phone will remain usable without unlocking throughout the drive
