Do you not pay attention to the NFL? This guy is a dirty player, plain and simple. Has been for some time.

Frankly, I'm surprised it took the league this long to suspend him for a year.
Should be a lifetime ban, but a year is OK

That might work itself out. Who would sign him at this point? Only the Raiders wanted him this year, so if they dump him I'm not sure who takes him.

    The Patriots?

Seriously, if it wasn't for a career in Pro Football I suspect Vontaze Burfict would be in a penitentiary somewhere

He wouldn't last a week in New England. They certainly don't mind bringing in bad guys, but they wouldn't tolerate the 15 yard penalties he'd draw.

he is a inside linebacker. he is exactly what the position is supposed to be. An Enforcer.

Maybe not in this current NFL where playing Defense really isnt allowed.

There's a right way, and there's a wrong way. You can only be told so many times you are doing it wrong before you get suspended and banned.

You don't have to like it, but to pretend like this was out of the blue or anything less than flagrant is absurd.

Spearing a guy who is on the ground isn't playing defense. It's trying to end someone's career. It's a miracle he hasn't paralyzed someone yet. I have to imagine you're just trolling right now. You can't be this dense.

Shane...please...no...there's a difference between this guy and even other dirty players. Like, for instance, Rodney Harrison was a dirty player. Burfict took it to a new level. Consistently. I watched him do it...for years. At first I defended it because some of the original plays were actually iffy. It then continued and continued and got worse and worse.

i dont like the precedent of suspending a defensive player for a entire year because of a hit. Its not like he took off his cleats and tried to stab the dude in the eye or something.

So how many chances should a player get to try to injure other players before facing consequences for those actions?

technically vons roughing the passer penalty at the end of jax, and chubbs roughing at the end of the bears, are designed to prevent "qb injury".

Chubb put his body on top of the qb, after getting pushed by the tackle onto him.

Will bans start extending to roughing the passer penalties?

And those are the same as Burfict repeatedly spearing defenseless players?

Literally not one player in the NFL has come to his defense. Not one. That should tell you something.
