Broncos on IR right now:
The players who are expected to be brought back are RB Theo Riddick and QB Drew Lock.Jake Butt TE Reserve/Injured
Ryan Crozier C Reserve/Injured
Joe Dineen LB Reserve/Injured
Nico Falah C Reserve/Injured
Austin Fort TE Reserve/Injured
Drew Lock QB Reserve/Injured
Dadi Nicolas DE Reserve/Injured
Horace Richardson CB Reserve/Injured
Theo Riddick RB Reserve/Injured
Dymonte Thomas SS Reserve/Injured
Billy Winn DT Reserve/Injured
Theo Riddick: 8/1/2019: Signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract. The deal includes $1 million guaranteed. 2019: Under contract; 2020: Free agent.
2018 Riddick caught 61 passes out of the backfield for 384 so he provides a badly needed offensive weapon.
And Drew Lock obviously is the Broncos backup QB as soon as he can get healthy. They will probably want to start him later in the season after the Broncos are eliminated from playoff contention, to see what they have in him.

They don't have to designate a player to return anymore, they changed the rule. Now, they just can bring back any two players off IR, they don't have to designate them when they go on IR. They have to miss a minimum of 6 games (I think).Quote Originally Posted by VonDoom View Post

They are unlikely to bring back Butt because he's never been healthy for 3 years straight. They have 1 more year on his rookie deal and they will bring him back next spring and give him one more chance in the pre-season to prove he can stay healthy.
problem is. butt is the only decent te on the roster even on one leg
Wait til trade deadline and then steal OJ Howard from TB, who’ll be criminally underused in Arians offense.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...n-hes-playing/Asked why he’s not getting more out of Howard, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians made clear that he is not happy with Howard’s performance.
“You’d probably have to ask him,” Arians said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “He’s got so much talent and he can play a heck of a lot better than he’s playing.”
Howard also played poorly in Week One, fumbling once and letting a ball bounce off his hands for an interception.
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Arians doesn’t use TE’s for anything other than blocking, he had Howard lead blocking on an iso and he did his job. He’s the thoroughbred from the movie Warhorse, plowing fields.
