To be fair to Dak, he often played on offenses with little talent at WR. Now RB and TE he had a lot. But it is hard for a young QB to throw the ball for gaudy stats when a gimpy and mopey Dez Bryant is the best guy you got. I think he's maturing well, and he's doing it with a head coach widely regarded as a yes man, and in an organization that isn't very stable. Between the suspensions, rumors, etc, and even injuries at times to that line, he has done more and more.
I think he's on a precipice for either becoming a great QB. If he ascends, and maximizes his talent, he can be a really great QB. If not, he's going to end up being an above average QB who can make some great plays every now and again. I really like him, his attitude, and I'm rooting for him.
I've been a fan of Dak since college too. He and Deshaun Watson were two guys I really wished the Broncos would have drafted. I'm still very optimistic about Drew Lock now though. I really think he has "it" whatever "it" is. He seems to really love football and has a desire to be great and has a willingness to work for it. Also, in the limited action we saw in preseason its apparent that the young man has elite arm talent.
He's gonna be our guy, it's just gonna take some time and there will be some bumps along the way but in the end hell be our next franchise QB.
You really nailed the Watson pick. That guy gets killed in the media a lot, too. I don't get it - he's not perfect but he's a damn fine QB.
Dak shouldn't be as good as he is. He is a testament to what careful development and a strong support cast can do. He's in a rare position to become greater than the sum of his 'parts'. I.E. overachieve as a player and stay there.
Lock has bad mechanics, which is fixable. Lock has a damn near perfect arm, and can throw it with touch and agility. Lock looks to always make a play down field, even if he shouldn't. Lock is also willing to step up in the pocket, take abuse, and complete a pass. Every flaw he has comes with an equally, if not greater, asset. I believe in the kid. I started believing in him not when he kept lighting up teams, but when I heard his interviews. He knows he's a borderline great talent, but he knows that he's really raw in a lot of ways.
I believe in him.
Dak and Deshaun are both great examples of what leadership and intelligence can do for a team. Deshaun is a better natural athlete with a stronger arm and I think Dak is a tad bit more cerebral.
In all honesty drew reminds me a lot of a combination of both those guys. Our future is bright at QB. We need a real LT, a stud MLB, and some more CB depth and we'll be competing for SBs again.
Something is wrong with Bills fans.
I wanna go to the store and get me a brew, but I’m too lazy to drive anywhere. LoL.
