    Default Best intro ever thread...

Youtube told me to watch this dude's videos about top 20 drum intros...and then I watched top 20 keyboard and guitar intros.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpY_9qY-j1g

    So.

What's a great intro? This dude said the single chord intro to A Hard Day's Night was #1, I call BS. I think it's Voodoo Chile by Hendrix, which didn't even make honorable mention. We agreed on the best drum intro, and #2 on the drum intro took me by surprise but I totally agree.

    Rosanna by Toto

Keyboard intro? Hm. I didn't like what this guy came down with, but there were some solid choices in the list. I'd say either Foreplay/Long Time or Light My Fire. Baba O'Reilly might be the best though.

That is a hell of an intro! Why do I feel like I just listened to Rosalita?

NY Serenade follows Rosalita I think, maybe? There was a week when I chanced on that recording in my 20's and played the disc non-stop.

Springsteen is vastly underrated, IMO. There's a few people here who despise him for some reason. Dude can write. You can debate his singing ability all you want, but it's far better than the likes of Bob Dylan...

    Another great intro:

    Yellow Ledbetter.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I like this dude's channel. Checking out one now about top 20 rock bass 'sounds'... I'm thinking Flea, the dude from Boz Scaggs, J. Chancellor, and of course Les. Maybe Deftones? If the Jane's bassist makes the list, I'll be stoked. So far he's hit on Flea and Justin. Some of these are so choice...

    The Sweet Emotion bass intro.
    RATM Bombtrack
    Ramble On
    Synchronicity II
    Jeremy (those bass harmonics!)
    Ooo...Would? (AIC)

Man, Singles soundtrack had some serious gems...but we knew that.

    Tom Sawyer

    No Primus, weird.
