I just want Lock to be the focus. But, I have always liked the idea of having backups with talent that you can groom and then trade off for pieces later, or maybe end up with a hidden gem. That's my contention, and the track record of handling QB's the past several years has been a bonafide failure for us. I'm not inclined to give any benefit of the doubt right now.

I don't think there was anyone available to us who fit that mold. We were left picking from the junk pile once Lock went down.

I've made my thoughts clear on Sloter. I love Kap, but I don't think he'd be willing to take a vet min contract to be a backup at this point, so that's not something I see as realistic.
