You can't predict injuries. He was a 4 time all pro when healthy. I'll reiterate that 32 out of 32 GMs would have taken Luck over Manning at the time and you would have too because you're a smart person. It was the easiest slam dunk of a decision ever. Manning happened to recover way better than even the most optimistic broncos fan thought he would and Luck got saddled with awful o lines his whole career and it ruined him. So yeah, with hindsight it worked out better for us getting Manning, but even Elway at the time would have taken Luck if he could have.

If he had Manning I don't think he would've. If he did I think he'd keep both and trade one if Manning turned up healthy.

Anyone clamoring to tank for any player is wrong.
