Survivial League Update: No one got a strike in week 1, but Orangehoof had the near miss of the week. After Deshaun Watson & his fellow Texans burned him with a TD in the final minute of their game, Drew Brees & his fellow Saints bailed him out with a FG as the clock struck :00!

Sorry for the delay, between me injuring my wrist at work a couple weekend ago & a lot of good things coming together for me in my personal life, I’ve been quite preoccupied the past few weeks.

As far as me guessing wrong that Ziggy would win the tie breaker, I think instead of treating this week’s 2nd Monday night game as the final game of the week & the 1st game as the 2nd to last game of the week (a distinction usually held by the Sunday night game), Yahoo! treated THE 1st Monday night game as the Monday night game & the 2nd as THE OTHER game.

I saw the Texans take the lead with :37 left and asked myself "Did they leave Drew Brees too much time?"

And, of course, the Texans were stupid. You have a rookie kick returner back there for the Saints who has already made two mental mistakes in the game. Why not pop the ball up to about the 10 yard line and force him to use up some clock? Yes, he might make a great return but more likely there would be a penalty on the return or he gets no further than his own 30 and then Brees has to work with :30 or less to get into field goal range. Instead, they kick it out of the end zone so Brees has the whole :37 seconds. And, of course, Colvin gives a receiver 15 yards of cushion when he needs seven to be on the fringe of Lutz' FG range. Brilliant!
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

How did I forget to mention your name in the post. I know I typed it, but I must have accidentally deleted it when trying to edit it to protection

Survivor League Update: NTL gets not only his 1st strike by picking the Titans, who came up short against the Colts, but the 1st strike of anyone in the competition.

Survival League Update: No one got strikes this week, but Orangehoof had his 2nd near miss in just the 1st 3 weeks of the season. So NTL remains the only player with a strike for the season.
