Default Colts GM says Luck now has high-ankle problem

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Colts have gone from feeling good that quarterback Andrew Luck would be ready for the start of the regular season to now not being able to say for sure he'll play Sept. 8 at the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1.

"We're 3˝ weeks away from the regular season, I'm not ready to say," Colts general manager Chris Ballard said Tuesday night regarding whether Luck will play against the Chargers.

Tests done on Luck on Monday night revealed the quarterback has gone from dealing with a calf strain, which he originally was diagnosed with in March, to currently having pain in the "high anklish" area of his left leg.

Dude is done physically. He'll never be the same. They gonna look for top QB in 2020.

I wonder at this point if Luck will be considered a bust since he really hasnt brought to them what they thought he would. Not all of it is his fault but if he cant remain healthy his career is basically done.

Default Hopes fading for Luck to be ready by Week 1

INDIANAPOLIS -- Colts quarterback Andrew Luck's odds of playing in the Week 1 game at the Los Angeles Chargers decreased when coach Frank Reich announced Tuesday that he will not practice this week.

"Really no further updates. All we have right now is a combination of full-speed movement and pain threshold," Reich said.

There appeared to be some hope that Luck was on his way to returning to the practice field last weekend. Video posted by ESPN showed the quarterback doing footwork drills and going side to side before attempting a pass before the Colts' preseason game against Cleveland. Colts general manager Chris Ballard had said on Aug. 13 that Luck has a difficult time moving side to side due to the pain in his left ankle.

One more year and he will become the next Colt QB to win a SB in Denver.

I don't think so. We can't have a Luck and a Lock on the same roster and same position. It'd be too confusing!
