    Default Broncos Sign Riddick

    Booker is likely gone.

So he was officially a RB for 5 seasons before he was moved to WR, presumably because he does a better job of catching the ball then rushing with it.

We might need to hold off on figuring out whether his signing costs a RB or WR his roster spot.

Riddick brings juice to this offense. He can get open and he can hang on to the ball. That's something that this O desperately needs. Riddick is also one of the better backs at blitz pickup in the league. That's another huge plus with Flacco at QB.

Great. Another back to steal snaps from our true playmakers at the position

Unless we use him the way the Lions used him last year, as a WR.

He's here to catch and protect, not run. He's gonna take Bookers job, and it's an upgrade.

Or a very reliable player to help keep our 5'8 190 pound running back fresh for the full season. Riddick is a playmaker. He can move the chains, pick up the blitz, and hold on to the ball when it's thrown to him. Add in ball security. He has 2 fumbles in 573 career touches. A lot of people aren't going to like this statement, but he's a better receiver than Lindsay. He's a great addition for 3rd downs.

This doesn't have to turn into Riddick vs. Lindsay, but I'm sure some folks on here will see it that way. Elway went out and added some more juice to this offense. He's a great addition and a big upgrade over Booker, who he will replace.

I don't get this take that you and Mo are going on about. Are we supposed to just give Lindsay 400 touches this year and run him completely into the ground?

It’s not about Riddick vs Lindsay. It’s Riddick vs Booker. Who would you really rather have if they’re gonna sub in a 3rd down back anyway, Booker or Riddick? Riddick won’t steal carries from anyone. It’s all about winning, right? Please tell me the bitching isn’t about Lindsay’s stats or Fantasy Football numbers...

If you’re worried about someone stealing Lindsay’s snaps, you should be looking at Freeman. He’s gonna be the guy they look to in short yardage and goal-line situations and he’ll be the one taking fantasy points from Lindsay. I think it’s gonna be a Jerome Bettis vs Amos Zereoue thing.

I mentioned last year how similar I thought Lindsay's and Riddick's games were. I think this is a good move. Riddick is an underrated receiving back, and is fast and makes good cuts. He's very complimentary to Lindsay.

He reminds me of Theo Riddick, but plays with more energy.

No way Lindsey is a full time back. He wouldnt last half the season at that rate.
