Bailey was like Revis...except Bailey didn't have double standards when it came to physicality. I watched Revis time after time get away with murder when he covered WRs with burning speed. And, unlike Revis, Bailey didn't shy away from big ball carriers.
Why do I bring up Revis? Because he was the consensus 'best cover corner' since Deion. And that's B.S. - it's Champ Bailey.

Only Deion Sanders was better than Champ. Second greatest corner to ever walk the earth. That 2004-06 run after the trade was insane.
Whose consensus?
Bailey was better. One of the best athletes I have seen. For much of his career, he was the fastest player on the field and the quickest. I still feel he was robbed for the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year. The most amazing performance by a defensive back I remember. He had 10 interceptions, 21 passes defensed, 86 tackles and quarterbacks generally avoided him.
Best cover corner not named Deion.

Oh ... that time he shut don’t Tony G on Sunday Night Football. So glorious.
That was his first regular season game as a Bronco. It was ******* amazing.
Revis hated run blocking. I remember him avoiding Tebow when he was running he disnt want to try and tackle him. Dude was a fraud, best player on the NYJ for some time so it was easy for him to stand out amongst a pile of trash.
You have to be multi dimensinal to be the best.
