I was hoping Bryce Love would last late in the draft for this purpose, Lindsay just isn’t going to hold up with as many touches as us fans want him to get. And if Lindsay gets injured it allows Denver to keep his role in the passing game plan the same, Riddick isn’t much of a runner.

I like the idea of having a backup to Freeman and a backup to Lindsay.

The fact that NO was trying to sign him tells me they see Riddick as the backup to Kamara.

    Sign Garbage Minshew.

    Draft
    1st round— Cooper Dejean CB
    2nd round— Jack Sawyer OLB
    3rd round— Will Shipley RB
    4th round— Ricky Pearsall WR
    5th round— Ladd McKonkey WR
    6th round— Cash Jones RB
    7th round— Carson Steele RB

Ok. And what's wrong with adding more competition in camp? May the best men win.

RB Theo Riddick went into Broncos headquarters this evening and signed his new one-year contract, per league source. Broncos have a new receiver weapon out of backfield. #9sports

Freeman is already better than Riddick

And now they both get to go out on the field and prove it and earn a spot. And they might just both earn spot. Having 3 talented RBs who can all come in and perform when needed and who all have the versatility to both run and catch will be a great thing to have.

they are called running backs for a reason. Just because VJ misused him and because of injuries doesn’t mean Royce doesn’t have talent. There is a reason Detroit dumped Theo. He is useless as a runner.

The Riddick hate in this thread is comical.

This is testament to the smarter thinking going on in dove valley. there are now are different knives in the cupboard for different jobs. Nothing not to like here. He’s explosive, tough for his size and will give Joe another option. One year prove it deal too.

i think that after the several years of offensive ineffectiveness they can use all the help they can get.

Does remind me a bit of the Jamal Charlea fiasco, why he didnt see the field try and jumpstart a poor terrible offense, idk

I think this player should be used to spell our star RB. Just to lighten the load a little about - longevity matters and our star RB could last quite some time in the league if we do it right.

If we botch this and Lindsay isn't getting enough touches, that doesn't mean Riddick was a bad pickup - it means we handled the situation incorrectly.

Fangio has had to defend against Riddick twice a year for the last 4 years. He knows exactly what he's getting.
