Just want to remind people why Lindsay should be on the field in passing situations:
In all seriousness, I'm still at a loss as to why you are so against this move. Unless our coaches are stupid, they'll put the best guys out there for any given situation. If Lindsay is our best third down pass catcher, then I'd see no reason why he wouldn't get the bulk of those plays. Riddick is just another weapon in the arsenal to use when needed. I really am failing to see how this is a bad thing.
rest - https://www.denverbroncos.com/news/b...k-theo-riddickENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have signed veteran running back Theo Riddick, the team announced Sunday.
Denver placed DL Billy Winn (triceps) on injured reserve in a corresponding roster move. Winn suffered his injury during Thursday's preseason opener.
Riddick, a seventh-year veteran, played 84 games for the Lions over the past six seasons. He tallied 1,023 yards and five touchdowns on 288 career carries. He's made more of an impact in the passing game, where he has caught 285 passes for 2,238 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is the only running back in the NFL to record 50 catches in each of the last four seasons.

Not against the signing. Concerned about usage. The concern I have with Riddick’s usage is the same concern we all had/have with Booker. Sure, we don’t want to burn up Lindsay, but he needs to be on the field on third downs. But when a team adds a third down specialist, I think it’s prudent and logical to ask why and what will his usage be?
Who says he is a third down specialist? How about maybe a receiving RB? Think they could use him 1-3 downs.
Well anyway CHJ likes him..
“He looked real smooth. I didn’t see him run the ball more like catching the rock out of the backfield & running routes. He’s definitely going to be another threat—another receiving threat at running back that we need
It just takes a spark: A motivated Theo Riddick could bring new dimension to Denver's offense

this is the funniest thread so far this year. . .
also. . .
“Right now he’s going to get thrown in the mix,” coach Vic Fangio told reporters on Sunday. “He’s had a good history in his career of being a good receiver out of the backfield and a good threat in that way. Obviously, we’ll see if we can fit him in that way. and he still has that going for him. He’s been a good receiver. I’ve seen him play the last four years in the same division and he had a couple good routes here today.”https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...e-mix/#respond“I have a lot of experience being in the game for six years,” Riddick said. “We got a young room — very talented, but hopefully I can help them out in terms of things they can see before it happens. You only can get that from experience, so hopefully it comes in handy.”
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
Booker sucks, Theo is a upgrade over booker. I don't see a bad side here. They have already stated all year that Lindsay and freeman were going to share carries and that booker would still see pass catching work. That work will now go to Riddick when booker is cut....much ado about nothing here...

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...lder-fracture/Theo Riddick didn’t make it long in Denver without getting hurt.
Riddick, the running back signed by the Broncos this month, suffered a shoulder fracture in his first preseason game with the team, according to Mike Klis of 9 News.
The injury is expected to sideline Riddick the rest of the preseason and for the first few weeks of the regular season.
Riddick was released by the Lions in a surprise move early in training camp, and picked up by the Broncos. As one of the most productive receiving backs in the NFL in recent years, he was expected to play a big role in the passing game in Denver.

I bet MO did it.
Try to look at it as a blessing. The Backfield will get a fresh body and a bit of spot rest after the first few weeks.

I wish injury on no one!
