The Broncos are on NFL Network's Inside Training Camp Live right now (3:22p PT) - it's been good. Looks like it's going to be a full hour. Have talked to Flacco, Lindsay, Elway, Fangio so far.

TD is hosting while sitting in shorts - he still looks like he could push the chair aside and rush for 1,000 if he felt like it.

Thought maybe some of you could set the DVR in time.

Fangio is John Fox 2.0 and it’s great.

Mark Schlereth was at practice yesterday and was commenting on how Garrett Bolles got spun around and lost his guy, . . . . and wrapped up Joe Flacco.

Like last season when he would get beat regularly and resort to desperate obvious tackling of the defender to keep him off the QB. This time, he got turned around in practice and didn't realize that the guy he was desperately tackling to keep a defender off Joe Flacco, was . . . Joe Flacco. (I imagine Bolles didn't body slam Flacco, but still. . . )

Right now, it's looking like Elijah Wilkinson is going to be the starting LT ahead of Bolles, but it's early yet and we'll see how good a coach Mike Munchak really is. If he can get Bolles straightened out, well and good. If not, then Wilkinson is your starting LT.

No its not. Bolles is the starting LT. Elijah is not looking to be anything ahead of bolles.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Nevertheless it's worth noting that our 1st round pick LT who is coming into his 3rd season is probably closer to being beat out by an undrafted practice squader than he is to making a pro bowl... Dude needs to make huge strides this year - not exactly encouraged by the first week of camp where his coach is singling out his backup with praise -- keeping in mind that it's only the first week of camp.

I was just discussing with another the possibility that when leary is gone, retires, whatever, that we slide bolles into RG. He is a mauler in the run game.

I take everything Schlereth says, especially in regards to Bolles, with a grain of salt. Schlereth regularly trashes the Denver O-line, and it's not like they've really done anything to prove him wrong since Ryan Clady tore his ACL. Like most ESPN personalities, Schlereth has gone down the path of "hot-take artist", continually throwing crap against the wall hoping something sticks, and to his credit, a lot has.

Bolles will definitely be the starter.

Schlereth has basically been a hot take guy since his first day at ESPN. I've never really taken much he says seriously.

Schlereth regularly trashes the OLine because theyve shown more of being trash than even slightly-better-than-mediocre as a group. Bolles may be getting his last shot.

He'll get beat out first before they Start him this year just because he was a first rounder if he is still awful and has shown no improvement.

I actually thought the second half of the year he showed improvement, but it doesn't seem that way.

munchak is a great teacher, but we should probably give him more than a week. . .

broncos forum: "but i want it now!!!"
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Bolles was horrible last year and nearly led the league in penalties. Will he be better in his third year? Maybe. That's been the hope.

The reporters commenting on the first week of practice have noted that Bolles is still basically sucking.

Does this mean he's toast? Of course not. He's the favorite to start. They want him to start.

But, Muchak is absolutely no-nonsense. Same for Fangio. If Bolles isn't doing his job the way they hope and expect he will will NOT start. Someone else will start.

Wilkinson has impressed so far in camp. He's the swing tackle. If Bolles doesn't start, Wilkinson will. THis is all simple logic.

Hopefully, Bolles gets better over the course of the pre-season and is the day 1 starter. But, it's not looking good in the first week.

This is a thread on training camp. What's going on. Well, what's going on is that Bolles apparently hasn't gotten a lot better so far. That's all.

Don't read too much into it "Bolles is doomed!" But, don't read NOTHING into it either. Stuff is happening, and so far, not great. That's all.

This is basically right. Munchak and Fangio had no part of drafting Bolles. They don't care about him at all. They want guys in there who do their jobs.

Bolles has lots of athleticism, but terrible technique. That won't cut it in the NFL.
That's all we can say so far.

    Bolles current grade: Incomplete.
