If Lindsay fails to develop in that area? Lindsay was great in that area last year but was drastically under-utilized in that aspect of the game. It always confused me. With Freeman, Booker, and Lindsay on this team, I don't know why they'd bring in a guy like Theo Riddick who surely isn't looking to play second or third fiddle to someone with his resume.

He's unemployed - beggars can't be choosers - I'm sure he'd happily be a 3rd stringer if it preserved his roster slot...

They are basically putting Booker on notice here. They'll only keep one of them - so whoever is the best 3rd down pass catching, blocking back will win the job.

Are you feeling OK? Asking because your last couple of takes have been terrific.

Default Broncos bringing in top pass-game running back Theo Riddick

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Theo Riddick, who is considered one of the top passing game running backs in the league, is visiting the Broncos today.

Riddick played six seasons with the Detroit Lions. In the past four seasons he averaged 61.75 catches and 473 receiving yards. He was released Saturday in large part because he was owed a $3.2 million salary.

He is taking a physical today and there’s a good chance the Broncos will sign and have him compete with Devontae Booker for the team’s third-down running back slot.

Riddick, 28, is more pass catcher than rusher. Last year with the Lions, he had 61 catches for 384 yards while rushing just 40 times, albeit for 171 yards and a 4.3-yard average.

That makes sense. I guess after reading Carol's last post, your post makes more sense.

So they’re bringing in a running back to play third downs?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

RBs get banged up. . . more capable depth going into camp is always welcome, and he brings a useful skill set. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Theo Riddick has left Broncos headquarters without a deal, per league source. #9sports

    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
