Thread: Von Miller, Chris Harris Jr., Derek Wolfe to represent active Broncos at Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony

DENVER — When Owner Pat Bowlen and former cornerback Champ Bailey are enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 3, three current Broncos will be in attendance.

Outside linebacker Von Miller, cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and defensive end Derek Wolfe will represent the Broncos' active roster at the Saturday evening enshrinement, President/CEO Joe Ellis said Friday.

“Mr. Bowlen … he’s always loved his players and taken a special interest in them,” Ellis said Friday. “I think it’s meaningful to him that [three] of today’s current roster members will be at the festivities on Saturday.”

Ellis also revealed several other scheduling notes for the week of the Hall of Fame game and the enshrinement events.

Truth be told, the roster has changed dramatically since Super Bowl 50, and more since Champ and Bowlen were daily parts of the Broncos organization. I know some people will say "well they should make everyone go!" but truth be told, guys need to hit the tub and the film room. 5 weeks of preseason will leave a mental and physical toll on a lot of guys, so they need to take their rest where they can get it.

So very happy Bowlen is getting in.

Won't the whole team be there as the Broncos will be playing Atlanta in the HOF game?

Game is on a Thursday and festivities take place during the weekend.

The Broncos will play in the Hall of Fame game on the evening of Aug. 1 and then return to Denver.

“We’ve got to get back to work,” Ellis said.

Miller, Harris and Wolfe, though, will return to Canton at some point before the enshrinement festivities.

All three players also played with Bailey, who retired after the 2013 season.
