Thread: Flacco not herr to mentor Drew Lock

You and I both have zero idea if Elway thinks he can make a deep run Flacco. You're assuming it but you have nothing to base it on. He But if we're going make wild assumptions as what Elway is thinking, mine is he thinks the team will be more competitive and be in better position to make the playoffs not that it's a given.
    Well, that's B.S.

I have EVERYTHING to base it on! Every move the Broncos have made this off-season is to win now. Elway keeps saying things like Flacco is "in his prime". He clearly expects them to make the playoffs. If he didn't think they could get in the playoffs they would not have bothered to sign Flacco in the first place. That would mean they were a rebuilding team and should just start Lock and see what they have ahead of the 2020 draft when several QBs like Tua and Fromm will be available.

The goal in Denver has NEVER been to just get to 500. It has always been to get to the SB. Every move Elway has made for better or worse has been with that goal in mind.

Mahomes could easily get MORE than 50 this year and that wouldn't be a shock either. Hopefully not more than 2 TDs a game against the Broncos though.
You'd be surprised? Or you wouldn't? Which is it?

No my friend it isn't b.s. What I have read from you are conclusions saying that you know exactly what Elway thinking and saying behind closed doors. When you don't work for the Broncos anymore than I do. IIRC you said Denver would not Lock at all. What did they do? Denver drafting Lock is comparable (not perfectly) to the Chiefs drafting Mahomes.

No, lock should keep his mouth shut and learn to be a better pocket QB. That's the only way he's getting on the field.

in retrospect, what the hell WAS flacco herr for, anyway?
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
