Default Ok. We're Picking at 15.....What Say You?

What do I love? I love getting a stud player at 15.

This draft has some real talent in the first round in areas we can capitalize.

The kicker? There are a ton of teams with huge decisions at quarterback, and a lot of good QBs on the board. That usually means people trading up or reaching for QBs.

Teams that will or could conceivably take a QB if they are sold?

    The following:

    Bengals
    Miami
    Chargers
    Carolina
    Jacksonville
    Raiders
    Indy
    Tampa Bay

So what this means for me is any one of these teams could either take a QB in their slot unexpectedly or trade up for one.

    Burrows
    Tua (if he enters)
    Herbert
    Fromm
    Eason
    Love

These are QBs that could potentially go in round 1.

Burrows Tua and Herbert will definitely go imo ahead of pick 15.

So that leaves a number of really good players on the board that can potentially end up in our laps. There are 10 players (at this point, combine, workouts will tweak later) that have a ranking (Scouts inc)
of 90 or more left on the board.
Since we draft at 15, team needs can push a great player to us. The draft is full of really good WRs. Im not advocating for WR, but if we do......Higgins is the man I would want. When he adds weight...its over. He may not time the fastest but he plays fast.
Laviska is also a stud and possible since hes a Coloradan.

Player I would love to have most is Isaiah Simmons, but he wont be there. Next to him, Kinlaw may take our Dline over the top when Chubb gets back.

Delpit is not someone I would want because he misses open field tackles.

This is according to Scouts rankings......there are other possibilities.

Im not advocating a WR but if we took BPA and ended up with Higgins I would not be mad.

    Thoughts?

OL please. I would be happy if we used our first 4 picks on OL and CB.

Broncos need OL help. In an ideal world, they would draft a blue chip LT and move Boles to RT, but you don't get a blue chip LT at 15th. Assuming there isn't an OL worthy of the 15th spot, then the team also needs CB (obviously), DL, WR and if there was a show stopping ILB at 15th, I could live with them going with an LB at 15.

I see one OT in that list. That one.

A player who is in the starting lineup from day one.

So true. Id rather take stud OL or DL....truly believe it all starts up front. However, BPA is the best idea in the first round almost always.

As Slick said, a starter from day one.

While I would love to get a player so great that he starts, at most positions, it's hard to have a rookie start unless the team really sucks. While our QB created crappy record would indicate we suck, the reality is that we have pretty decent talent at most positions other than 3/5ths of the O-line.

If there's no good trade down, they should look for help in the OL, DL or CB positions although a top-flight WR could also be an option. I'm still not on board with Dropsean Hamilton. Moving Bowles to RT makes sense except we have a gazillion dollar waste already signed for RT (Jawanna Stay Upright). How much money do we throw down that pit? Frankly, we have a guy in Munchak and a guy in Fangio that should be able to identify the guy we need at OL and DT respectively. I'll trust their expertise more than the draftniks.

Draft an outstanding cornerback! CB is high priority in my opinion. Defense wins.

    Then, draft a solid OT.

Balance is needed but this team needs too much offensive help.

It needs to be a mostly offensive focused draft. Most of our top shelf talent is on defense. We should look to get Lock a lot of help. Let's get him a left tackle and a guard. Let's buttress the offense with another WR in the earlier rounds -not necessarily round one- and add some depth to the TE and RB position. Let's be honest, if we have a defensive head coach, the onus should be on him to uplift the defense. The offense needs the most help.

Not to mention we had a top 10 defense in most categories this season. Obviously they fell apart at very inopportune times but that's something I think coaching, a few new pieces, and more time for our nucleus players will help.

Not to mention getting some marquee players back

CB and LB are very important come this draft. But so is OL. Lock is the kind of guy who can make up for some of our flaws but if we want to compete and win against the big boys than we need to give him any and all kind of help on offense that we can. Bolles no matter if you like him or hate him is a drive killer and his mistakes and reputation as a OT now are a hindrance to this team. OT should be first priority followed by LB, CB, and then WR in my opinion.

OL, CB, WR, DL..... everything else

    In that order

Possibly swap OL and CB based on BPA
