Good for him, he'll be able to be Luck's backup if he keeps this up.

I just finished watching both of the Colts’ preseason games on NFL Rewind. In the 1st game against the Bills, I can see why a Tebow lover like you would love Kelly just as much, he definitely has the potential to be a duel threat by making play with his legs. He wasn’t quite as good as TT in this area, but he did show reasonably good accuracy, even if it was against mostly scrubs that won’t make the opening day roster of any team.

In the 2nd game, he did something that Tebow never showed he could do on a consistent basis, make plays with his arm from the pocket. It would’ve been helpful for him to not be playing with scrub OL that couldn’t hold their blocks long enough to allow his receivers to run a rout greater then 10 yards without one of them getting called for a hold. Seriously, I swear every 15+ yard pass that he completed may have been called back do to holding. His yards per attempt would’ve been a lot higher if he did have to throw 5 yard passes on 2nd & 20+ just so they could run a pass play without it getting called back.

Based on what I saw, I believe he’ll make an NFL opening day roster, even if its not actually with the Colts. Both of the Colts’ QBs above him on the depth chart that played did well enough that I doubt that there is an opportunity for Kelly to advance in the depth chart with them, but I sure that there will be teams out there that aren’t happy with their QB depth that might give him a chance.

Kelly may be in an NFL lineup as late as September, but he'll be in a police line up by Halloween. However much his talent, he's repeatedly shown the exact opposite of the discipline a pro QB (or pro anything) needs. Coaches must love him at practices: "Look, kid, showing up hungover was bad enough; don't bring a keg."
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

Chad Kelly is about to end up starting at some point for Indy when Brissett plays himself out of a job lol.....If ever there was a time for chad Kelly to save his career and make something of himself it would be this year in Indy. he has done enough to prove he can at least be a number 2 somewhere, heck he did in Denver until he went crazy lol.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

That last I saw, Kelly was still 3rd on the Colts' QB depth chart.
