So many trades but each one seemed realistic. It was too much fun to *not* go crazy in the second and third rounds.

The safety position is constantly evolving. I value it very highly - as run stopping losses importance and the passing games open up across the league, the potential for playmaking at the S position is increasing. Constantly. Sometimes things fall a certain way and you can trade back into the first round and grab an incredible talent. Five years ago I wouldn't have even thought to do this.

After that it's just grabbing meat-and-potatoes level players with upside or really high floors. That's a boring way to go after starting things off with a LT (only Denver fans find that exciting) and trading up for an uber talent.

Being the GM of Denver is now very easy because we have no first round picks for three years. I gave up a bunch of thirds and all of my seconds and another first rounder, but in my head that was also Von in the deal, too.

This was me trying to figure out how I can get a round one talent at the top of the first. When it looked like it would break that way, I sort of molded my trades around that idea. This has to be panic inducing in real life - it's so fluid and dynamic.

LSU makes LT's and LG's plenty fine. Saadiq is potentially a future Pro Bowler, and there's precedent for guys with lesser talent hitting all-pro. I said what I said, dammit!

The rest of it is just opportunistic drafting. In this draft, I believe Jeudy and Jefferson went earlier. That could actually happen this go around, too. Regardless, if we had this draft we'd be happy. If I had to defend the Fromm pick, it's that he has just enough talent to be a starter in the right system. He's also not a bed-wetter. In other words, he has enough talent to develop -even for just the sake of flipping him for a profit- and could be useful as a backup/spot starter if Lock gets dinged up/we want to be precaution-like.
