Default Fanspeak mock (4/4) with CBS Aggregate big board

I was actually drafting for another team but I usually check to see what the computer did for the Broncos and I thought this was an interesting mock. Keep in mind, these weren't *my* choices, just what the Fanspeak computer came up with:

    10: R1P10
    TE NOAH FANT
    IOWA

    41: R2P9
    CB BYRON MURPHY
    WASHINGTON

    71: R3P7
    QB DANIEL JONES
    DUKE

    125: R4P23
    WR DAVID SILLS V
    WEST VIRGINIA

    148: R5P10
    EDGE CARL GRANDERSON
    WYOMING

    156: R5P18
    WR PENNY HART
    GEORGIA ST.

    182: R6P9
    DL CHRIS SLAYTON
    SYRACUSE

    237: R7P23
    RB WES HILLS
    SLIPPERY ROCK

I think the first four picks are terrific but I would have liked to see the ILB position and the OL position addressed here somewhere. Granderson is likely the Shaq Barrett replacement. Penny Hart sounds like someone appearing at that strip club up in Denver, "Gold Diggers" or something. The DL can use some help I guess. Too many holes to fill.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

I’d have to change my underwear if this happened, and I don’t know anything about picks 5/6/7.

Was Emanuel Hall still on board when you took Sills?

I don't mind getting edge rushers because you can never have enough of them, I don't think they should leave this draft without a inside linebacker. Imo this mock a little to heavy on offensive picks.

TE, OL, WR, QB...maybe RB. Don't be shocked if our actual draft is heavy on the offense as well. And rightfully so.

I can't tell you but I really like Sills. I watched several West Virginia games and he was Will Grier's favorite target. He was always getting open and showed great hands.

To be honest, that’s why you csn’t Trust players from that offense, I like what I’ve read about Sills though.

Sills profile at NFL.com. 6-3 receiver who runs a 4.57 40 but finds soft spots, extends for 50-50 throws and has a knack for touchdowns (33 total in past two seasons).

Since you asked about Hall, here's his profile:

    https://www.nfl.com/prospects/emanue...9-41456e96908c

6-2 receiver with 4.39 speed described as "one-trick pony" who runs past defenders but has undependable hands. Upside: Jacoby Jones. Downside: Darius Heyward-Bey.

Oh I’ve read all about Hall, he’s the pony this offense needs, Denver has enough possession receivers.

Could also serve as our #3 QB. Kind of like Rod Smith did

If we draft Lock, I like the idea of Mizzou receivers for the familiarity factor but, otherwise, if we draft speedsters, I'd prefer ones who actually CATCH THE BALL. Remember Assley Lelie? Do you want another one?

I read this and then had to send an e-mail to someone by the name of Leslie Lelii...and I referred to her as Ashley.

I can't justify Fant in anyway shape or form at pick 10. I would take Cody Ford or Jonah Williams at 10 if I was going to reach for a player at 10 before Fant or Hockenson even cross my mind. Murphy in rd 2 is a steal, but unlikely since greedy was already dropping and now baker has screwed himself with a poor off-season, so murphy could be the first CB taken in rd 1.

I would crap my pants and jump for joy if we got Daniel jones in rd 3, and sills is a very good player, but the system scares me a bit.....just some thoughts....

I really think a impact player at ILB, DL, OL or QB should be our target for our 1st pick. I expect a CB or OL to be taken in rd. 2 or 3 if not taken in rd 1.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

    FA

I won't disagree with you. There are a lot of fanbois that want a TE though and there is a decent case to be made for it (Flacco's crutch). Personally, I am still on the Drew Lock train if he's there then CB in round two and OL or TE in round 3. I don't think Murphy or Jones will be there when those picks come up.

I can see a scenario where Fant could be available in round 2, so I definitely wouldn't use #10 on any TE not named Hockenson. And I wouldn't mind him at 10 because I believe we are in a win now mode. Our top players at key positions are all 30 or above and I think we should focus on kids that can come in and contribute and make a difference from day 1. So, I'll hope that our first 3 picks are spent on, in no particular order...ILB, OC (because I much prefer McGovern at OG), TE and to a slightly lesser degree, DL. A QB is going to sit at least a year and a corner probably won't see much playing time behind Jackson/Callahan/Harris/Yiadom. I don't think we're just yet in a place where we can completely go BPA. Unless it's BPA at a position of need.
