    Default Drafting TE early

Apparently we have been giving some serious time to the TE position given some of the visit updates.

Between Butt, Heuerman and Fumagalli we have a decent group of young TE's drafted fairly early. If they could only stay healthy and prove something that would help.

That being said, Im sure thats why we are looking.

Well...after 3 ACL's, I'm not counting on Butt to offer very much at all. Even if he stays healthy, he'll be done in a few years anyway. Heuerman is what he is...another injury bug waiting to happen. So, I think we might be able to count on the 3 of them combined to offer the amount of depth that we might expect from a typical #2 and #3 TE, but we still need that #1 guy. Especially in this offense. Fortunately, it's a pretty deep TE class and we can still land a solid kid in rounds 3-5.

Agreed. Plus, Flacco loves him some TE's.

No doubt, it'll be another Big 10 guy. Why? Just because.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

Well that's been pretty much his best receiving option for a good portion of his career.

That said, I'd be fine with Hockenson/Fant

    Only if they're injured.

No doubt. We wouldn't want to rush them into playing too early.

Default I love this Warring prospect.

Elway flat out said he’s been looking for a TE since he been GM.

He'd have an easier time if he stopped drafting projects and injuries at the position.

I'd bet if they asked him to be more specific, he would say that he has been looking for a complete TE. He had an all pro in Julius Thomas, but he was one dimensional and often injured.

Hockenson and Fant are night and day prospects when it comes to blocking. Fant is the athletic freak while Hockenson is the complete TE. I'd be surprised if Elway had much interest in Fant.

He did elaborate on that exact point, actually, without mentioning JT. To be honest I don’t think he’s interested in another JT.

I’d prefer Fant, btw, I hope we’re wrong.

I cant get behind TE at 10 right now I just cant. I would take Jonah Williams, Cody ford, or Christian Wilkins at 10 before I draft a TE there. I would even be tempted to draft Bush there before TE.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

    FA

I would take Bush over all those guys. He is a fast riser and an Al Wilson clone. Creative blitz packages with Bush's pash rushing ability will be fun.
