Default Music from a commercial or movie that made you look into the band

Thought about this last night while watching "Edge of Tomorrow". I liked the song at the end, but haven't looked into their other music:

Also, there was a Mitsubishi commercial a while back for a 4x4 that I liked the music and downloaded the song:

When the rebooted version of the TV show "V" came out a few years back, I got caught up in the theme song for it. Looked it up and discovered it was Muse, who I had heard of, but it made me dig a little deeper into their music.

I googled the Geico Caveman commercial last week for the song they play so I can add it to my play list. It's Remind Me from Royksopp.

When the Samsung 6 or 7 came out, their commercial had a lady rapping with and English accent. The song was Queen Speech Episode 4 by Lady Leshurr.

If you are into that style of rap like I am, you will like the other episodes and songs.

I liked the song at the end of Rory Scoval's netflix comedy special. It's called Broken Bodies by The Winter Sounds.

Another song like that was the one at the end of Donnie Darko. Mad World I think.

When I heard the Sigur Ros song for the first time in Vanilla Sky I fell in love.

John Cusack sold me a copy of The Beta Band 3 Eps.

Natalie Portman turned me on to the Shins. Not really, I already liked the Shins.

Electric Dreams, a movie from the mid-80s, had me hooked on Jeff Lynne for a while.

Oh, THPS3 and some snowboarding game on PS2 turned me on to a bunch of music.

Most of all though was a snowboarding video called TB3: Coming Down the Mountain.

I picked up albums from 4-5 of those bands, my favorite being the intro track (not the ditty right at the start) "Junior" by Heavy Vegetable. I listened to that album "The Amazing Underwater Adventures of Aqua Kitty" a bazillion times. I still do. It also turned me on to Youth Brigade, Face to Face, Down by Law.

That was back when I was planning on learning how to do those tricks. Never got there.

Here's another one from that snowboarding flick. The engineer did a great job bringing out the bass guitar.

While i havent dived to deep into either woman's musical catalog (but what i have heard isnt bad at all) i did discover them initially through a trailer and a tv show.

From the trailer for The Circle (Hall and Oates Cover)

From the TV Series Lost Girl

I never felt much of anything for the Foos. Muse I loved way before everyone else but then became indifferent (this is self-mocking). The best Muse song is Bliss. There's also another one that's solid, Butterflies and Hurricanes I think it's called.
