Reminds me of basic cadet training in Jack's Valley at the zoo. I asked a friend to send me a letter with lyrics to the Pogues album If I Should Fall From Grace With God. When I had a moment I'd look at the lyrics sheet and play the song in my head (for you non-mil folks you had the clothes issued and everything else was contraband subject to penalty, listening to personal music without consequence wouldn't happen for about a year for me).

That album is square in this space. Idk how to pinpoint it, but it's pissed off Irish-ness. Being dismissed. Knowing beauty.

    Dancing like a fool.

I am going to have to give Obsolete more airtime. It's a CD in my car!

I am on my own private island here with this opinion, but most Kanye West albums are great concept albums.

I looked up one Kanye west song because I was curious. It was awful. Really really bad.

    Which one?

I used to hate Kanye. Because everybody else hated Kanye and it was cool to hate Kanye. Now I love Kanye.

Nah. I'm with you. The College Dropout is an archetype. Homage to being self-perceived as inferior but not being satisfied, wanting to do right but knowing what's what. I don't get why Kanye gets shit except for the outrageous shit he says. Wait, now I know why.

Plus he produces like a boss. That's a big (silent) part of this equation.

I think it was once en vogue to hate him because he is an egomaniac and an *******, really.

But he is a damned musical genius. I was gonna listen to some Willie Nelson tonight, but now I'm gonna make a Kanye playlist.

I couldn't tell you. The video was him and another guy in like big fat costumes and it was all about sex. It was odd.
