I like lock a lot, but if your asking from a straight value perspective if he is worth a top ten pick the answer is no, because I believe he needs to have 1 year of good pro coaching to become a franchise guy. In the top 10 if your going to draft a QB from value perspective he should be a day 1 starter. I don't see that in Lock, Haskins, Murray or Jones. The reason teams will take QB's high this draft is because they are desperate. You get desperate by doing what we have done since Peyton.

RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

I think Murray in Kingsbury's system is worth a top-10 pick. And I think Haskins and lock could end up being better than a couple of the guys that were drafted in the first round last year. Obviously Lamar Jackson is a complete question mark at this point. So I don't think that Haskins or lock would be reaches in the top 10 necessarily. Because you look at body of work Haskins really only had the One season but he did it in the Big Ten and put up ridiculous numbers in a pro-style offense. And lock has played for four years in the SEC.

My viewpoint is actually the opposite on both when it comes to playing time. Haskins was able to do great thi gs in just 1 year. Meanwhile, it took Lock 4 to barely hit average in his completion%.

I alluded to the fact Mahomes had some accuracy issues early in college as well.....In fact I believe he went 56%, 63%, 65% and Lock went 49%, 54%, 56% and 62% As long as they improve or show improvement its a pretty good bet they can continue to get better. Accuracy is a thing for college QB's, and as a evaluator if you have a prospect who has accuracy issues but shows the ability to continually get better then its a good bet, that if you pair that with gritty work ethic, leadership, and NFL skillset and arm talent your going to probably get a franchise guy. No guarantees, but the odds are in your favor I would think.....

Lock did great things in his first season as a starter too, makes me wanna see more of Haskins (even though I haven’t seen a single game of his, I’d rather watch paint dry).

Ya may wanna go look again. His Jr. Year was his best statistically. His Sr. Year was his best completion% He played 12 games as a frosh and was terrible. Sophomore year was average at best.

Yep, his fresh year wasn't great, but he did improve his sophomore year in the toughest conference. That's another thing I like about him. He played tough defenses his entire career and made plays as he grew into his role....

I said he did great things, I don’t actually know his stats (or anyone else’s) , I’m just talking about showing flashes of ability and putting himself in eventual 1st round QB talk.

    Which he most certainly did.

Rumors now have him moving up to possible top 5 pick, as more then likely the team that wants him trades up to 3 with the Jets. That's crazy to me....but it sounds like a possibility....

To get him where we did should make everyone quite happy. I know I am feeling good about him.

Why should we be happy? Flacco is going to be here for what the next ten years?
